I never thought I'd see the day that I'd be too busy to post an update. And yet here we are...

I'm not really busy, honestly. I mean, there's stuff to do at work but I'm more interested in writing now. Of course now they're trying to give me other things to do. Yeah.... about that...

Whatever, Boston was phenomenal, as it was last time. We left on Friday and our Megabus didn't have outlets like they usually do--the bus wasn't even a Megabus bus. So we couldn't watch Netflix via our phones like we'd planned. We had music and Cabin Pressure and other things but ended up playing 7 Little Words on my phone, fighting my phone's GPS that was always off by at least an hour, and chatting and/or making each other giggle with misread/misheard moments along the way. As we do.

We stayed with Divya's cousin Syon again, who did his best to be around now and then even though it's finals or something now (IDK, college is so far away~~ to me) and his adorable dog Humphrey, who we ended up essentially making AUs for (The Humphs is his street name). Oh, and Syon's roommates. One of which I saw exactly once, and the other who we awkwardly met again during an impromptu discussion of Zelda and philosophy because he had the same book as I do.

There were probably more in-jokes that we've forgotten and that will come up later.

Anyway, my sister decided Boston is where she wants to go for her July vacation with my nephew. I'll be going along as her guide. BOSTON, I WILL BE BACK.

So much to talk about, so little time.

THE WEEKEND WAS THE GREATEST. World Cup of Quidditch V. It started out already exhausting because I really needed rest after being at work all of Thursday and then having to wake up early Friday. Saturday (and sometimes Sunday, if I can get away with it) is my day to really enjoy sleeping in with nowhere to go. Instead I woke up at 7am, and left to pick up [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky at Penn Station. We walked up to Times Square, where they were re-creating Super Mario Land for the day. It was still pretty early so the crowd wasn't ridiculous and we were able to observe and leave quickly. I didn't realize until later that they were actually giving away the Tanooki tails and ears the volunteers were wearing. I wanted a pair. :(

Then Quidditch happened )

I'm like an episode away from being caught up with American Horror Story. THE HELL IS GOING ON.

** This entry will probably be too late to be properly about her birthday, but the sentiment is still there. This was originally meant to be typed up for our ~ anniversary ~ in August but Hurricane Irene had a hissy fit and threw off my groove that weekend. So I typed it up in Chicago while she was sleeping. :P **

When I was growing up I had a few friends, but they were always more of the kind that did things with me because I was just the only other kid around, or we had shared interests. Whenever I would watch TV or movies and friends would do extraordinary things for their friends I wondered what universe they were in. My friends were always sort of mean. We'd do mean things to each other but that's just what I knew. I didn't know what it was like to have friends who did things selflessly for me or out of genuine love. I guess by today's terms my old friends would be frenemies. They kept me on my toes and I was always aware that I might leave the room and return to find my bag thrown on the top of a library shelf, my action figure missing, money "lost" from my wallet or my cell thrown to the back of a dark theatre. Sometimes I'd even have to find my own way back home because my friends left without me or hear "I don't really care about this, Lia," whenever I rambled on about who knows what. That's just how my friends were.

So when I became friends with [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky over livejournal, I didn't think much of it. I'd had internet friends before. They were cool, but they only added the shared interest aspect to IRL friendships. Now I can say that my internet friends are some of my closest and best friends, especially the ones I've met on LJ. But [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky really changed a lot of things for me. I can't really say where I would be without her. The majority of the traveling I have done in the last few years is entirely because of her. I wouldn't have been able to go to Chicago, Boston, Philly, Princeton or DC as quickly as I have or even be planning future trips to other places without her. Things like Tippo the Hippo, "Is that David Henrie?", ChanBell, Charming Potato, Team Tesla, Igor, "He just wanted a hug!" and "That shit was tight as hell!" wouldn't mean anything. And if they did, they wouldn't mean what they do right now. I've had so many experiences that are because of [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky and I'm eternally grateful to her for that.

But it's not just about where we've gone physically (hurr hurr) together, but how she's made me a better person and what she's made me realize about myself and my other friendships. She's made me less selfish and more thoughtful--I've started picking up random gifts for her and others when out and about because I've watched her take special trips to stores just for her nephews or her brothers and tell stories about geeky purchases comprised of mostly gifts for others. The only time I'd ever buy things for others before was because they had a birthday soon or Christmas time was coming. She's made me a better listener because she listens to the random shit I'm into and reads my ADD comments about random links and long entries about this one time that a podcast came to NYC and makes me want to be that sort of friend to her as well. Splits has done a lot of things relatively selfless (youuuu are not a Hufflepuff, my friend, we know this) for me in ways that no one really ever has. And it's by knowing her and seeing these things play out every day over texts and through daily interactions that I start to realize that she's my first ever real, true, friend.

She's been as patient with me in real life as she has online and somehow she keeps coming back to hang out with me in a city that she could take or leave and keeps inviting me back to her various homes at college and at her family's home. She's the only one willing to travel to hole-in-the-walls and listen to me drone on about that one guy I know or that person I like and somehow make it seem like she cares and isn't actually shaking her head and sighing, "Oh, Lia, you little lost thing, you," on the other end of the phone. She will drag me to someplace she's never been for the ~*~experience~*~ and we'll make it our own experience, even if it sucks horribly, like the time we went to Bronx Comic Con and had to walk for blocks in costumes for a contest we never entered.

I sincerely hope everyone has a chance to have at least half the kind of friend that [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky is for me. Because I know how it is to live life without someone like her and it's not something I would ever recommend.

ALL OF THIS TO SAY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY GREATEST OF FRIENDS, DIVYA. I HOPE IT'S BEEN A GREAT DAY AND I WISH YOU A MILLION MORE, YOU ARE THE SIRIUS TO MY REMUS AND THE R2 TO MY 3P0. <3333

I am excited! PLANES EXCITE BUT SCARE ME.

Basically, I will be bringing my laptop and my phone, so I will be around sporadically, but not like usual. Urm, I'm going to try vlogging the trip, but IDK how charged my camera will be. WE SHALL SEE. And there will be pictures, afterward, obviously.

And probably voice posts at night, along the way.

OKAY SEE YOU IN CHICAGOOOO.

ETA: NJ Transit took me thirty minutes too far on an express train. Missed my flight, came back home. Trying again tomorrow morning for a 6am flight.
bohemia: (Celebs - Starkid - D. Nanas)
I hope everyone had a great weekend! I spent mine with [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky since Hurricane Irene ruined our plans last weekend. Actually, it still ruined our plans this weekend because the hiking trail we were supposed to go on was still closed because of it. And the movie we wanted to see, Fright Night, wasn't playing anymore at the theatre we were planning on going to. We saw Cowboys & Aliens instead, and it was fun even if it didn't explain ANYTHING about the aliens.

We also went shopping at Wegman's, a grocery store I had never been to before but is AWESOME and has almost everything in one spot. I loved the ethnic food section, not only because there was one, but because the Spanish section was entirely Goya brand beans, rice and seasoning. *dies* I bought a Malta though, because I hadn't had one in a while and I like them, lol. I don't think I've ever had Goya's Maltas, but it was decent. Also the vegetable section was crazy large. Wegman's is basically what happens when you put Stop & Shop, the hot food section of Key Food and the dry goods section of a bigger Manhattan Duane Reade together. Food you can feel good about, indeed.

Other things we did included planning out our entire trip to Chicago next week, watching The Perfect Score (I fell asleep, but it's okay because I own it and have seen it before) and some National Geographic documentaries on Dinosaurs with terrible graphics and horrible decisions when it came to dinosaur reactions to events (I also fell asleep here, different night, but the cliffhangers were boring). Earlier that same day we cooked ourselves lunch (everything we had bought at Wegman's) that consisted mostly of vegetables: vegetable soup with carrots, celery, mushrooms, onions, broccoli, spinach, parnips, etc. and portobello mushroom sliders with avocado pieces in a sandwich. I even had roasted garlic hummus as a spread. And then for dinner we went to a barbecue with delicious vegetables and watermelon. We also took [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky's dog to the dog park where we got bit by the most mosquitoes I have seen since I was eight. I'm sure it was a mix of the barbecue and the dog park, but my legs are currently sporting 14 different bites. :(

Also, neither of us got our Pottermore emails yet and we are highly frustrated about that. POTTERMORE, WHAT ARE YOU DOING.

I also took video of the cooking portion of the weekend, so we shall see if I can turn it into a vlog. I meant to vlog more and kept forgetting. This is the problem with not vlogging and then really wanting to start. You don't remember to start.
bohemia: (TDL - iPod)
I thought I'd have more things to talk about this week than I do at this point in time. Um. I saw Our Idiot Brother this week with a friend. It was pretty lame, but we got in for free.

Can you guys start giving me your Pottermore names? I haven't gotten my email yet, but I think it'd be best to have everyone's names handy for when I do get it and can do something with them. This is why I have to be a Ravenclaw. I hear the sorting hat is a joke and potions is the worst, so I'm not looking forward to that. But I'm still mildly excited for the whole experience. I'll probably get in the day before it opens, at this rate.

Bought a bunch of DFTBA artist albums the other day. Luke Conard and Skyway Flyer, All Caps' B Min/E and Lowercase (just for Trainers in Love), singles by Meekakitty and Winter Spring Pro (which turned out to be on Luke's album anyway, he just named it differently).

There was a failure of a flash mob yesterday where I work. They announced it and then waited until the music was turned off, gathered up in a group and started to dance. MISSING THE POINT. But it was cool and I got to hang out with some co-workers while we got free pizza, water and sodas. I was trying to avoid buying lunch for the day. It didn't work, though. I ended up going back out for sushi thirty minutes later.

Also, in two weeks I'm going to Chicago! So city tips, air travel/airplane tips would be awesome. Last time I was on a plane it was 1994, so I'm assuming things have changed A LOT since then--especially after 9/11.
bohemia: (HP - Stupefy)
So guys! Now that Livejournal is back up and Russia and all them countries have their platforms back up, we can go back to fangirling to the fullest!

Especially me, because the Echo Base CA guys are back to doing daily vlogs, this time for Vlog A Lotta August. I was going to join them. but by the time I realized the month change it was the 2nd. I can still technically do "a lotta" but IDK if I wanna.

But also, I saw Harry and the Potters on Sunday with [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky and my friends Carlos and Mike. Read more... )

Afterwards I saw everyone off to their respective transportation before going home myself. I was tired and my "dogs were barking" as Carlos likes to say. It was a good time all around. And I converted non-Potterheads to wizard rock! WHO KNEW THAT WAS A POSSIBILITY.

Photos are on Facebook in my concert album. I have other things to say, but it'll have to wait for tomorrow because 1. This is long enough already and IDK that LJ is stable enough to post longer entries yet, and 2. It is bedtime for me. :P
bohemia: (Misfits - Stare at muh tits yeah?)
So the starling is still with us (and let me know if you can't see those). I still don't know if it's a male or female and won't for a while. I try to stay neutral with "it" but always default to "he," and I'm still undecided on names. I posted a Question on Facebook and so far all that's there is "Feathers." It'd be nice if it was the only bird we had... but it's not. [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky optioned "Cricket," which is scarily accurate to what it sounds like when it's chirping for food. It sort of looks like a Macaroni Penguin or Pidgey the Pokemon right now, but I know it won't always. Other suggestions were Andy, Larry (from Three Stooges), Charlie, Bronx Strong, and Avenue (a nearby street is named Starling Avenue). Give me ideas!

I'm so behind on everything. This weekend I was out all day and then I'd get home and just want to collapse. I haven't been on Tumblr in five days, Livejournal in four, and I'm behind on my shows. I saw Suits, which was awesome and makes up for how I feel about Fairly Legal and Covert Affairs (I tried, but it wasn't working for me), but I still have to watch The Fall of Sam Axe and the premiere of Burn Notice, all of Falling Skies, Leverage's premiere and I'm assuming an episode or two of Men Of A Certain Age and In Plain Sight. I'm starting to get angry at being so far behind. I enjoy these shows and having life intervene, funtimes though they may be, gets to me after a while. I got on the computer at 8pm today and have been meaning to catch up on SOMETHING. And... now it's almost midnight and I haven't even touched VLC yet.

My camera cable is still missing (I'm going to re-order one from Amazon) so I can't post the majority of pictures from my last weekend in Philly or Pride on Sunday, but Pride was simply amazing. I met up with [livejournal.com profile] justspaz in Penn Station and we found a spot along the beginning of the parade together--conveniently outside a Walgreen's that we ducked into a few times--and eventually enough people had left for us to be right along the barricade. The people were phenomenal, the floats and groups were wonderful (a few made me tear up from happiness, especially the ones waving "Thank You Governor Cuomo" signs) and [livejournal.com profile] justspaz made me laugh a few times with commentary, especially towards the end when the bloggers were marching and she said, "the internet is coming!" Afterwards we walked down the parade route to find my friends Carlos and Zev who had taken the Megabus in from Connecticut and tried to find somewhere to eat/a festival Zev said was somewhere on Hudson Street. Eventually we gave up and found somewhere to eat as Zev trekked onwards towards the festival (by the time she found it it was ending). We ended up at Jekyll & Hyde, where I haven't been in forever. The Butler was awesome though, and we had a huge laugh when he asked where we all knew each other from. THERE'S THIS THING CALLED THE INTERNET, MAYBE YOU HAVE HEARD OF IT. He pretended (or maybe he was being truthful) about never hearing about Livejournal, Diggnation or podcasts in general. But we all had a good time, Zev eventually re-joined us, I bumped into a friend of a friend from work, we got on the 2 train to Penn for free, everyone got to their bus on time and my feet were done with me way before I got home. I checked on the starling, who was sleeping soundly, and then crashed.
bohemia: (Being Human UK - Hoodie)
I haven't had time to look at things online this week. It's so strange that now that I'm out of school I have even less time to do things. I have to be in bed by 10/11pm at night if I want to be up in time for work in the morning. But when I'm getting home at 6/7pm at night, that doesn't leave a lot of time for anything--once I get eating and catching up with the family out of the way (that's worded wrong, but you know what I mean). I've also sort of stopped watching TV until I'm caught up with my podcasts, which will probably take another two weeks. Somehow I'm more disciplined about keeping up with my TV shows than with my podcasts--maybe because I can't get spoiled about my podcasts since exactly three of you watch the same ones.

I've been listening to the Aida soundtrack for the past week. It used to be connected to really strong feelings for me, but I've realized it no longer is. I made a list of songs that were connected to memories/feelings that sting on Saturday and just listened to them in a row. It's partly sadistic, partly therapeutic and I do it every so often to analyze what songs are still on my shitlist and which I can associate with better memories now. I only have a few from the last year to deal with now, and I'm glad. There was a time when I couldn't listen to Rooney's entire first album, actually. But that's obviously not an issue anymore.

I had some weird dreams lately that I've been meaning to share because I thought they were pretty cool (forgive the grammar, it's too late for me to worry about tenses atm):

Cut because they're long paragraphs and rambly )

Finally, TEAM TROY FOR THE FANDOM MARCH MADNESS WIN. Dudes, I don't even watch Doctor Who (I've tried, I don't get it) or Community (I also tried, it's not funny at allll) but I loooove Donald Glover. True story, he and his internet comedy troupe were on an episode of The Totally Rad Show when they played Apples to Apples and I thought he was hysterical and decided that even though I don't like his show I was a fan of his. Matt Smith is also cool and I really like him too (and Party Animals is on my list of shows to watch this year), but when I saw someone from Community was winning all the rounds I went, "It better not be Joel McHale!" and just as I was waiting for Google to return my search on Troy Barnes I went, "Actually, if this is Donald Glover's character, I'm totally on board with this." I knew Eleven would get this far. Well, I also expected Spock to make it further than he did and I AM SHOCKED, WHAT IS HAPPENING, I THOUGHT YOU NU!TREK FANS WERE STILL OUT THERE? I mean, FUCKING BUFFY SUMMERS won last year and her show hasn't been on in years! But at least this year, whoever wins, I'll be happy.

But yeah, if you haven't yet decided... Troy. :D

So remember how I mentioned that I saw The Eagle on Sunday with [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky and then that night we were up from 12am to 5am just coming up with AUs? Well, now is where I unload them all onto you!

First off, you have to realize that making up AUs is just something we do. The both of us tend to come up with the crackiest ships in the largest fandoms and the most canon ships in the smallest fandoms and neither of those get us very far, as you can imagine.

But before I go into the AUs, I have to impart some spoilers, because they ended up cropping up in the AUs A LOT and causing a lot of hilarity as the punchline/prompts.

Well, they're spoilery if you can't know ANYTHING about the movie beforehand, although really, there is nothing really plot-related in here... or in the movie, actually )

Oh, and JGL = Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Channing Tatum's twice co-star (GI Joe and Stop-Loss!) and really good friend, according to GQ magazine. Marlon, in the one or two stories where he gets cast = Marlon Wayans, who was in GI Joe, too.

Anyway, onto the AUs we cooked up:

It started with us having just watched Primeval and being like, "Now I want Channing and Jamie to just be traversing time and space together. Maybe Jamie goes through Roman times, and the 60s and all that and then Channing learns his secret and then they go traveling together!" and then just spiraled from there. There's also some sub-AUs in here.

Five hours of AUs we made up while expecting to fall asleep )

THAT TOOK TWO HOURS TO WRITE UP. HOLY JIZZ.

Also, these (1, 2 [I meant to say I feel bad for casting Channing with a dangerous occupation all the time and it came out as "He's always a dangerous object!"], 3, 4, 5) posters came out of that crazy AU-filled night, too. I'm pretty proud of them.
bohemia: (BTR - Kendall/James)
I'm so behind on TV. I'm like a month behind on Sunday shows, a week behind on everything else. I spend all my time at school and I feel like every time I do anything extracurricular someone goes "LOL UNDO" and I have to waste another three hours of my time doing something that will be undone the next day.

The one light in my life was that this weekend was the World Cup of Quidditch and despite others telling me they would go, the only one who actually came along was [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky. She needed that weekend as much as I did, and it was joyous, omg. I uploaded pictures and videos (there are eight videos but only four are showing up right now?) on Facebook. I think I would enjoy hanging out at Quidditch matches from now on. I'm going to look into helping out with some local Quidditch Club. Something to do with my spare time (lol says the girl with none). Also I uploaded pictures from Boston and my visit to the Statue of Liberty in August because they were all on my camera and I just only found the USB cable this weekend. Eventually I will have time to think for myself and actually post that Boston entry I've had waiting in the wings.

I've decided I want to go to a midnight showing of Deathly Hallows on Thursday, despite having to work the next day. It'll just make my Friday harder but damn it, I get so little time to myself. I haven't chosen a theatre but two people who said they'd come with me. LET'S SEE WHO ACTUALLY SHOWS, EH? And I now have a Ravenclaw tie so heck yes, there will be reppin' happening. Or something.

Also, BTR is releasing a holiday EP or something and one of the songs is "All I Want For Christmas Is You" which is my FAVORITE MODERN CHRISTMAS SONG. Also releasing a holiday EP? Rooney. This Christmas is like eargasm central for me, CLEARLY.
bohemia: (Default)
So I didn't have time this morning to post before rushing out to school or rushing to downtown to catch the bus, but I'm on my way to Boston right now with [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky for the weekend. We should have been there by now, but we hit traffic. We watched as many episodes of Undeclared as my laptop's battery would allow and now we're listening to playlists we made for the trip and hoping that gets us through this longer-than-necessary trip. I say "playlists" because we each made one, but our tastes are so similar that at least 75% of the playlists are the same. I just threw more The Departed songs on mine and she included Marky Mark.

Anyway, we'll be gone until Sunday night, but there should be internet where we'll be so we will be in touch!
bohemia: (ATHF - Meatwad)
So next weekend [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky and I are off to Boston! It's her birthday the following week, and she wanted to go to Boston? So... we're... doing that. IT SOUNDS SO WEIRD BUT THAT'S BASICALLY IT. We have a fairly loose itinerary planned for Friday and Saturday (Sunday is when we return) that includes the New England Aquarium, the MIT Museum, a picnic/lunch at Boston Public Garden (Beacon Hill!) and maybe a movie tour or visit to the Zoo or some other museum. Those of you from/frequent visitors to Cambridge/Boston, what are good places to eat lunch/dinner? We're generally going on Yelp! ratings and pictures but after DC we're wary of things going to complete hell on us. So any advice in that area (or tips on far more interesting museums/sites to see) are welcome.

I watched some pilots: Hellcats, Nikita and Terriers. Terriers was the only one that really hooked me. Nikita seems intriguing enough but it didn't focus too much on her. I don't want to judge the show so harshly from one episode, but everyone else was more intriguing to me. Every time it went back to Nikita I was like, "Yeah, whatever, cut back to the other characters!" Hellcats is too teenager-drama-catty for my tastes. Terriers is supposed to be an hour-long dramedy, but it feels much more dramatic than comedic. The only comedy stems from its Psych-meets-Bored to Death premise of LOL THESE GUYS ARE JUST WINGING THIS DETECTIVE JOB, but since I watch both Psych and Bored to Death it feels a bit tired to me. Still, I love Donal Logue enough to keep watching even if it hadn't pulled me in.

I also wanted to start watching Sons of Anarchy again and catch up with Human Target. I can do that within a week, right? >.>
bohemia: (Push - OMGWTFCHINA)
Like I expected, not much to say on TV other than My Boys was hysterical. Bobby <333

I leave for Washington DC in a few hours! Technically first I have to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky and then tomorrow we leave for DC. But I'll be gone until Sunday afternoon/night. I'm not sure of the internet situation but I'll most likely drop in a few voice posts and tweets through the weekend. I also have my phone so I should be able to get comments/texts/etc. if you need to reach me.

I feel like I should make an entry about TV this last week but I don't really have anything to say. White Collar was ADORABLE, Psych was decent and everything else was enjoyable for what it was. Actually, I haven't watched my Sunday shows yet. If there's anything to say about them, I'll update again. I doubt it.

I'm just sort of in a bummer mood. Work is over and there aren't any more summer events at my school. There's my trip to DC with [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky coming up, but three days seems so far away when you take it an hour at a time. And my legs hurt from all the running/walking/dancing/etc. I did this weekend. I've been lying around listening to music--which is the least active activity in my repertoire--and staring at the calendar.

bohemia: (Misc - NYC)
I KNOW, I KNOW... TV. But I really need to post about this week so I can record it for posterity~*~*.

It all started Saturday, when [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky came up to see the play I'm helping with at school. My dad and I drove down to pick her up from the train station and our car battery died? So we had to wait until a family friend came all the way out to give us a jump and then get to school with enough time for me to do my stage manager stuff. I got there later than I was supposed to--but earlier than the audience, so there was that.

The next day we drove her all the way home, which is always a fun ride, except the intermittent clouds made the roads very bi-polar and scary to drive on at times. My dad and I kept shouting at the rainbows we saw on the way home. THERE WAS A DOUBLE RAINBOW AND A HALF.

After I got back home [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky and I both realized I could have just stayed at her house because she was supposed to come back to NYC for the Rooney show yesterday ANYWAY. But we (mainly me) weren't thinking straight. Then that night's play performance was canceled because one of our cast members hurt their foot.

The rest of the week was a blur. I didn't do much except watch TV and laze about until Wednesday when I went back downtown to pick up [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky and see Rooney. We stopped at McGee's Pub, the inspiration for MacLaren's on How I Met Your Mother, got a little tipsy on Horse's Necks (me) and Gin & Tonics ([livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky) and then somehow found our way to the Rooney show (there was a drunk!voicepost planned but I couldn't remember my passcode since I hadn't done a VP in AGES), where we both got another round of Gin & Tonics and tried to enjoy the show from various points in the venue. We were near the stage by the end though, which was what mattered.

I may have been inebriated, but I have duties at concerts. )

And then the show ended 20 minutes before [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky's train left NYC so even though we made a mad dash to get there in time, she missed it and had to crash at my place. By the time we got back to my house, the next train would have just been pulling into NYC (two hours after the train she was supposed to catch).

AND THEN WE ALMOST MISSED HER TRAIN AGAIN TODAY. But we made it by seconds, even though we were slightly hungover. And now [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky is now safely back at her own home, I made it to the play (and tech went on without a hitch even though neither lighting or sound was at the rehearsal yesterday), and had a fun day altogether. But now I'm just tired. TOMORROW, TV.

ETA: ALSO! When we were trying to get back to Penn Station for the train, one of the actors from that Enjoy play I saw recently was on the same platform and I had a small celebrity freak-out. :D

Tomorrow I get to hang out with [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky again! And I get to see Rooney in concert again, although I haven't had time to even listen to Eureka all the way through so brb, listening to it in my sleep.

Tomorrow night I will catch up on TV shows. I promise.

I HAVE NEW FRIENDS, HELLLOO. Um, relevant links for you: a round-up of links, contact info and a introduction post here, a poll for a meetup I'm trying to organize here and the opt-in poll for my J2 writing filter (that will finally go into affect the moment I finish this fic I'm writing now) here.

Only three of my shows are new this week. And I guess Monk, because it's the last one and I have to see how it ends. I'm still not over Psych becoming the oldest show on USA. What is that. And I'm not over the random new move to Tuesdays either. That's Melrose Place/V/Lost night. And My Boys, I think. I never had shows on Tuesdays and then suddenly they're all attacking me that night. D: And the most TV I can watch live without DVR is two hours straight before I zone out so there will be problems with this schedule. DNW.

Anyway, have some memes and then some commentary/review/whatever on TV.

Okay, I'm going back to writing. I'm determined to get to my J2 epic fic next week so I want to edit all the ones that have been beta'd and then finish this Britney/Justin one. I'm aiming for 12K but so far I have written only 2K in two days and it's only scenes here and there and nowhere near a cohesive story. IDK, I might just turn them into a series instead because it's super sloppy and I'm not sure I can fix it. It depends on what it looks like at the end of the week when I've written the skeleton.

I don't really need to put up a hiatus post, since I'm only going to be gone a day and a half. But I'm going to Philadelphia! And I'm excited, so I will flail at you guys.

I'll be with [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky. And if our last time together is any indication, this is going to be amazinggg.

Two videos that sum up this trip )

And also, I guess, any clip having to do with college parties at apartments/frat houses (the deleted scene from Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny comes to mind) and running around cities looking for things to do (Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist transported to Philly? Why are there so few movies/clips that take place in Philly?)

ANYWAY, IT WILL BE FUNTIMES, I'M SURE. I'm literally walking out the door the moment I post this, so I'll see you all when I get back! BYEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

P.S. LOL MOODTHEME, ILU.

I haven't been on LJ in a good three days, so I had major catching up to do. I've seen all my shows for this last week (haven't watched HBO tonight yet), but I can't recall anything amazing other than what passes as technology on Fringe continues to make me laugh hysterically.

I realize I've been a bit cynical and bitter lately on some of your TV reviews/commentaries and I want to apologize about that. I've tried to make friendly debate threads start in an effort to get some kind of conversation going, but sometimes that doesn't go over so well. I'm in a weird place lately, but that's no excuse for spreading that venom all over your journals.

In other LJ news, I'm going to go do a friends cut of dead journals and people who haven't updated their journal in five months. If anyone else wants to cut me and has been waiting for the right moment, for whatever reason, now's your chance.
