Doot doot doooooo, catching up on TV I missed last/this week.

Big Love )

How I Met Your Mother )

Chuck )

The Cape )

Being Human UK )

Being Human US )

Mr. Sunshine )

Off the Map )

I got my dad hooked on Archer with last week's episode, he got the first season yesterday and he's all caught up today. MY FAMILY WINS AT MARATHONING.
bohemia: (HIMYM - Shoot me)
I saw Valentine's Day yesterday, finally. If I hadn't been spoiled for the surprise by the big hoopla the internet made over a certain kind of couple in it, I think I really would've enjoyed it more. I did enjoy it, but I just... wasn't surprised like everyone else in the theatre. That said, the hoopla made me want to see it more. I really just went for George Lopez, who was in it more than I expected so that was cool. Half-way through the movie I realized there was three actors of Latino origins in it and I was like, "FUCK YEAH LATINOS." IDK, I saw The Black List a few week ago and since then I've been on a "positive ethnic pride" kick.

Anyway, I just caught up on TV. Here's some thoughts:

Big Love )

Brothers & Sisters )

How I Met Your Mother - now with 100% rant )

The Big Bang Theory )

How To Make It In America )

Lost )

White Collar )

Burn Notice )

I was going to watch Parenthood, but I got three minutes in before I realized it was an hour show and I can't watch some of those actors for an hour every week. Nor do I have the time for another hour.

Haven't seen Caprica yet, and I want to watch Psych over again before I talk about that because there were some specific points I wanted to talk about and I didn't write anything down.

Finally, it's [livejournal.com profile] f_march_madness time! Last time I just voted for whomever I liked more, but this time if two fandoms I hate are up against each other (like pretty much the entire teen category-- seriously, where's Melrose Place? :( ) I don't even bother. But if there's a character I like more or like even without watching the show (like Cara, hellooooo), I'll vote for them. I don't understand why some of the older fandoms are still in there, like Saved by the Bell, X-Files, Farscape and Popular, but I do enjoy the whole process so I'm excited to see how things go (and I'm already impressed with how Gus is keeping up with this AD dude. YOU GO, GUSTER). Eventually I'll just be rooting for like, the one remaining character that I adore, but whatever.

Haha, I forgot I'm in school now so I have to go to bed now. So... TV thoughts.

Men of a Certain Age )

Psych )

Leverage )

Supernatural )

Burn Notice )

Big Love )

I don't know what just happened in Brothers & Sisters. I don't really care.
bohemia: (ATHF - Meatwad)
Supernatural )

Big Love )

I guess Men of a Certain Age was a repeat too? All of CBS' shows were, so I got to see Chuck live (which seems posed to add as many Superman-related people to its cast as possible), but then I watched WWE RAW and missed Men of a Certain Age.

The L Word-- all six seasons, super-longggg and spoilery )

And a few animes:

Kanokon )

Kimi ni Todoke, up to episode 14 )

K-On! )
bohemia: (Celebs - BAMF Katie)
I have been running around my school since 11am getting all the graduation/major paperwork filed. I'm tired. I'm spending the rest of the day reading!

Can someone tell me what is Lost's new timeslot? I know it's premiering on February 2nd, and it's a two hour premiere? But I don't know what time it'll be on for the rest of the season. I just need to know what show I'll have to download/stream on Tuesday (V, Melrose Place or White Collar), since Lost takes precedence over everything.

Big Love )

How I Met Your Mother )

Accidentally On Purpose )

The Big Bang Theory )

Men of a Certain Age )

I had such a great day today. It started with a mid-term, and I stayed two hours late for a class that was canceled, but the morose mood is starting to lift and I feel like I can do anything!

I told my mom I was getting sick of chicken and was thinking of finally cutting it from my diet and she went and bought salmon and shrimp for dinners sometime this week. I've been begging for shrimp at home since I tried it the first time when I was maybe eight. So basically all this time I've just had to give up chicken to get it. I haven't eaten red meat since I can't remember when. The only meat I eat is turkey and chicken-- and seafood if you consider that meat. I never have because whenever meat was forbidden at church, we had fish instead. It was always the "anti-meat". The only problem I see is having to give up Hooters' chicken wings, but I haven't had anyone to go there with in ages anyway. Also maybe giving up Popeye's-- but I was always more of a Popeye's mashed potato fan than chicken.

Anyway, TV!

In reference to Big Love, I never thought I'd want Sarah out of the picture as much as I do now. And in reference to Brothers & Sisters, lol, Kitty's stuck in a PG-rated Little Children.

DWTS )

How I Met Your Mother )

BTW, Bob Saget on a Monday night sitcom on another network isn't exactly cross-programming, since it's at 9pm, not 8:30pm. But it's still not clicking in my head,

Nothing to say on Chuck other than "hooray, guest stars!" Imhotep is coming for you!

Castle )

Lost has just been filler to me lately. Which will bite me in the ass when these past two episodes end up being the start of the hugest revelations, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Battlestar Galactica )

Supernatural )

In closing, this story makes me entirely too happy on various levels. And this, lol.

I want to apologize in advance if I don't comment too much in the coming weeks. This cloud over me doesn't seem to be going away and I need to combat it somehow. I don't want to end up taking it out on you guys, but if I do, I'm sorry.

Big Love )

Big Bang Theory )

Chuck )

Lost )

And because I spent a good twenty minutes trying to get the pictures off the PS3, you get to look at all my favorite LBP costumes.

A lot of pictures, but also really low-res and tiny )

I just started getting relaxed and now I have twenty minutes before I should be in bed. WTF. This is the worst school schedule I've ever made in terms of sleeping. At least other semesters I had days that started late. All three days I have classes, I have to be up at 7am. GRRRR.

You guys, my dad (and my newfound Gaiman obsession) has turned me onto this podcast called The Moth and I highly recommend you go check it out. It's a bunch of stories by people from all walks of life, but it's not the "Once a upon a time" type of stories. They're more like, "This is what happened to me this day in June two years ago," type deals. The lot of them are interesting, although some are hysterical and others are heart-wrenching. I was planning on making a huge "Podcasts I love and you should check out!" post soon, so I'll upload some of the better stories that I enjoy then. But until then, check out the episodes on iTunes, because they seem to update a lot and I don't want you guys to miss out on a gem that I haven't listened to yet.

Speaking of podcasts, wtf is up with AC360˚ getting longer? When I first started listening it was around 10 minutes long, and now it's up to 30 minutes. I hate just watching the latest episodes of news podcasts because I want to know what was going on in the world while I was ultra busy. But seven hours of old news is almost too much. I clearly have priorities though, because being seven episodes behind on Diggnation is almost nothing to me (I'm actually only one episode behind atm).

Big Love )

Chuck )

I don't have any words on Lost.

Burn Notice )

I feel like I'm never on LJ anymore. Does it feel that way to you guys? According to my calendar page it is.

Lia
bohemia: (Misc - Reading)
I realized all the TV shows left on my list are already finished/canceled shows (The L Word is ending this season, yes?), so I can catch up to them whenever. I'm going to tackle the books I've been aiming to read instead, starting tomorrow. Get some of those IQ points back, then I'll go back to the shows and finally finish them.

There's a few audiobooks around the house that seem interesting too (I plan on "reading" Coraline before I see the movie). I don't know how I'm going to balance those with my podcasts yet, but I want to get those in as well. Looking at the pile right now, there's 35 books composed of nine trade graphic novels, four non-fiction/memoirs/comedy essays, and a bunch of different genres of fiction. I figure I can do about three in a week, depending on my classwork and ability to find a seat on the bus if I have a hunker of a book with me.

And I just realized there's at least four social networks for bookworms (Goodreads, LibraryThing, Shelfari and that... dark-interactive library one I can't recall the name of)? Looking at the "take the tour" link makes them all look so intriguing. But I'm not planning on joining any unless anyone has really good things to say about them.

That was a lot of nothing. Here's a list of things that made my weekend:
Shake that Bunny
Gauis Frakking Baltar!
Uncle Phil Shredder
Barack Obama's Punch Out
You Rock, Rock
Schnitzel & Mercury have a conversation
Barrell roll

It was a totally productive weekend, what are you talking about? (XKCD also knows me way too well)

Okay, okay. TV reviews.

Big Love )

Brothers & Sisters )

When new cable TV shows come back from hiatus I tend to forget they're on, if they're not Psych. So I still haven't watched Burn Notice, and I doubt I'll get to it before the next episode. Hardly anyone here watches it or reviews it so it shouldn't be a problem, but FYI, in case. Not like I'd mind knowing if anything amazing happened ahead of time, anyway.

bohemia: (HIMYM - SW)
Wow, of course, LJ's downtime magically happens right when I'm posting this. Anyway... I had a great weekend, and as for the Super Bowl, WHO SAW THE USA NETWORK AD. EVERYONE ALL TOGETHER, OMG. Clearly my favorite, followed by Year One, GI Joe and Transformers trailers, although I may be biased, lol.

The Office )

Big Love )

Big Bang Theory )

How I Met Your Mother )

Also, Tweetdeck FTW. I was in need of an actual application for Twitter since Twitterfox wasn't cutting it with keeping track of everyone. And yes, I know. But when one person posts every five days and another is posting replies every five seconds, I miss out. And I was going to go with Twhirl, DestroyTwitter or Spaz as I was recommended, but then Tweetdeck just updated when I went to try it on Gabe the laptop and now I can do everything I was hoping for! YUSSSSSSSSSS. I was thisclose to diving into the API myself. I must re-download it on Ryland (who might finally get updated to Leopard this weekend, if I get the time). Yayyyy.

It's official. I FAIL at having Brendan Fraser movies, even after I was obsessed with him in eighth grade. I only own the first two Mummy movies, School Ties and Crash. So I've watched those and whatever I can find online. >.> Of course I forgot that I actually have shows on Thursday again besides The Office (which wasn't even airing/new) and didn't see Supernatural or Burn Notice because I was watching Still Breathing (♥_♥). I love that movie like little girls love Barbie.

Also, this. I SMELLED IT AT SCHOOL BUT I WAS HUNGRY SO I DISMISSED IT. WHAT IS THIS CITY.

TV time since more TV is coming up today and I don't want to be completely behind on talking about Psych.

Psych )

Big Love... nothing to say about it other than lol, Sarah's expression when they went to that house. I'm really trying to like her still but she's being such an annoyance. This show needs more Alby and his craziness.

Lost )

Dudes, I'm freaking excited for the Superbowl. Not only for the game and the commercials, but because I heard some whisperings about a guest star (no, it's not Brendan Fraser) on The Office airing immediately after and I am a pool of glee especially if they're true because um, I shall be making icons. :DDDDDD

Okay, off to watch SPN and Burn Notice before Psych.

It took me forever, but I was able to get down a few words about yesterday. That's here for anyone interested.

I got lost watching the news yesterday. But as of right now I only have ten more episodes of Avatar to go before I'm done. And then onto Mad Men. \o/

Battlestar Galactica: The gist of this is this: it is the television equivalent of the new Batman franchise for me. I understand everyone flailing about it, and I enjoy the writing and the acting but I just don't care about the characters much. And it pisses me off because it's the second time that I watched a geek show that I didn't like (the first one was two seasons of Doctor Who). And it makes me feel like something's off with me to not like the cornerstones of the geek world. But what can ya do. I'm only continuing to watch it because it's over soon. As long as I know it ends eventually, I'm okay with trudging on with a show. But I do realize that my opinion isn't going to change much within the last twelve episodes of the series.

This review-ish bit contains spoilers for most of the series.

Damnit, I finally watched the X-Files movie the other day and now I'm aching to watch the whole show all over again.

I'm also super excited that HBO finally updated the On Demand, because now I can finish watching Big Love before season three starts next month. So excited. Two more episodes and I'm caught up.

My cold isn't completely gone, but it's at least in recession. It sounds much more exciting than it is.

Yesterday I watched all of Extras, and today I watched season one of Big Love. I'm somewhere in the middle of Battlestar Galactica season three and Life on Mars UK season two, but as much as I'm determined to finish them, neither series is pulling at me. Life on Mars has been relegated to the two hours a day I spend commuting, and BSG is for Mondays during my break and Wednesdays all day long. Now I can move on with the other series during with the rest of my free time without the slow ones thwarting me!

I saw the Psych Christmas special yesterday. Something about it bothered me, but I don't want to get into it. I thought the whole Shawn/Henry ending and the mention of the cat was cute. And I think Sister Guster would be a great addition to the show. The new promo made me laugh though. Enjoy your hepatitis!

I had more to say but now it seems unimportant.

Meme time, it seems )

EDIT: DUDE! I mentioned on Twitter a while ago that my dad did the filecard artwork for these toys. But I found a Flickr photo of the firehouse he painted on, too! I remember sitting in a beach chair at his feet reading magazines and having a snow cone for the first time that day. :)
