This week has only just started and already it's insanity. I just wanted to catch up on TV.

Leverage )

Psych )

K-On!! )

Also, it's like three days old but [livejournal.com profile] propernice has a Fall TV friending meme going on over here. I haven't even had time to fill it out, but YOU SHOULD DO IT.
bohemia: (ATHF - Meatwad)
Apologies to my Facebook friends, I've been catching up on TV shows and collecting Miso badges. I must look a total loser to my newer friends. That's because I am. And yet, ironically enough I have a lot to post about lately. I just need the time. So for now, shows I"m caught up on!

I saw Valentine's Day yesterday, finally. If I hadn't been spoiled for the surprise by the big hoopla the internet made over a certain kind of couple in it, I think I really would've enjoyed it more. I did enjoy it, but I just... wasn't surprised like everyone else in the theatre. That said, the hoopla made me want to see it more. I really just went for George Lopez, who was in it more than I expected so that was cool. Half-way through the movie I realized there was three actors of Latino origins in it and I was like, "FUCK YEAH LATINOS." IDK, I saw The Black List a few week ago and since then I've been on a "positive ethnic pride" kick.

Anyway, I just caught up on TV. Here's some thoughts:

Big Love )

Brothers & Sisters )

How I Met Your Mother - now with 100% rant )

The Big Bang Theory )

How To Make It In America )

Lost )

White Collar )

Burn Notice )

I was going to watch Parenthood, but I got three minutes in before I realized it was an hour show and I can't watch some of those actors for an hour every week. Nor do I have the time for another hour.

Haven't seen Caprica yet, and I want to watch Psych over again before I talk about that because there were some specific points I wanted to talk about and I didn't write anything down.

Finally, it's [livejournal.com profile] f_march_madness time! Last time I just voted for whomever I liked more, but this time if two fandoms I hate are up against each other (like pretty much the entire teen category-- seriously, where's Melrose Place? :( ) I don't even bother. But if there's a character I like more or like even without watching the show (like Cara, hellooooo), I'll vote for them. I don't understand why some of the older fandoms are still in there, like Saved by the Bell, X-Files, Farscape and Popular, but I do enjoy the whole process so I'm excited to see how things go (and I'm already impressed with how Gus is keeping up with this AD dude. YOU GO, GUSTER). Eventually I'll just be rooting for like, the one remaining character that I adore, but whatever.

Friday was awesome. I just watched TV all day, which I really needed. If I can look forward to a day like that every two weeks I think I can make it through this year.

Yesterday I watched some OnDemand with my dad and we threw around some Lost theories, but then we were interrupted by the Olympics so I forgot if we decided anything cool.

Really, I just enjoy waking up at noon or later on the weekends because I have to be up so much earlier the rest of the week.

Men of a Certain Age )

Caprica )

I can't find a copy of Important Things small enough to run on my computer so I'll just wait until it pops up on OnDemand (...whenever THAT is...). But this last episode of Archer was hysterical. I don't think anyone reading this is watching that show, but if I was going to recommend an episode, it'd be that one.

Haha, I forgot I'm in school now so I have to go to bed now. So... TV thoughts.

I don't know what just happened in Brothers & Sisters. I don't really care.

I purposely haven't posted because I wanted to lump all the TV commentary I could in one post and my otherwise free time has been swallowed up by The L Word and anime. If you've seen me comment somewhere it's because it was during some theme song sequence gave me some leeway to do so.

I'm rushing like this because I want to get at least five animes and two American shows over with before school starts Thursday. Not for any particular reason, that's just my random goal. I'm super excited to go back, unlike most of my flist. Heh. Anyway. TV.

Sunday night TV was mostly "eh."

How I Met Your Mother )

I have nothing to say about AOP, Modern Family or TBBT, other than "awww" at Sully, Sheldon and Mitchell.

Chuck )

White Collar )

Leverage )

Haven't seen Supernatural yet, lalalalala.

Burn Notice )

Okay, I'm going to go watch season four of The L Word while I wait for links to SPN, The Deep End and Archer-- all of which I'll watch tomorrow after I come back from the movies (I'm super-behind on movies, but I can't say no to Han Solo and Rick O'Connell).
bohemia: (Lost - GEEK)
Leverage )

And then I tried to watch Dark Blue and just wanted more Leverage. Sorry Nicki Aycox, you're not that much of a draw. D:

In Plain Sight )

Royal Pains )

I was going over my friendslist trying to decide whether to do a friends cut and it seems I've inadvertently de-friended a few people? So, oops, sorry, and welcome back. I also added a few new people. HAI. This kind of entry is run of the mill in these parts, jsyk.

Tomorrow shall be spent reading fics and books because Monday starts Psych week. I have to buy pineapples and the S3 DVDs (still, because the stores near me SUCK) and then it's Psych all week until the premiere. Of Season four. FOUR. OMG MY LITTLE SHOW IS ALL GROWED UP. <33

At some point I have to trek out to see Funny People (I would've gone today but for Leverage), G Force and Aliens in the Attic, too. SCHEDULING TIEMS.

I've got the finale of October Road, if anyone wants it? It's a ten minutes wrap-up (and I called so many things that it reveals) but for the four or five of you who watched it, it's a nice closer to that series.

Hung is thirty minutes. I didn't realize that until it took an hour to catch up. So that's what they're scheduling with Entourage! I was so confused by HBO's Sunday lineup. It's good so far, but just something to entertain myself with when I'm bored. Same with Entourage. Seth Rogen is apparently a hater, but maybe he should learn to laugh at himself.

Haven't watched Hung yet, and I'm trying to get to at least "A Very Supernatural Christmas" in Supernatural before I go to sleep tonight (I woke up at 1pm, so I'm super-behind and S3 is... S3). But I'm gonna be away until Saturday afternoon (hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] splits_thesky!), so I'll post my thoughts from last Thursday and Sunday shows now.

Year One was less funny than I expected, but I can't pass up Jack Black (and certain cameos, omg). I'll probably get to see Transformers 2 on Tuesday. I'm trying not to let the Bay haters get to me, because I know I'll enjoy it, but everyone's making me nervous on Twitter.

Anyway, I got a Tumblr. No one seemed to be able to properly explain the appeal, so I decided to see for myself.

I don't get it. It's like a Twitter version of Livejournal? You make posts that people can't comment on and there's new things to see every day? And you can import feeds from Twitter and Vimeo and YouTube and etc. like Friendfeed, but there's the added pressure that it gets broadcast to your friends (like Xanga? LJ flists?) so it's like Facebook's public thing-y? Everyone I'm following I know on either Twitter or Livejournal (or read feeds through Google Reader) so unless something amazing happens soon (or people rec me things/people/whatever), it feels like I'm getting the same things twice from everyone I know.

I already have Twitter, Insanejournal, Dreamwidth (a openID, anyway), Vox, Livejournal, Wordpress... It's ridiculous.

And just to throw in another unpopular opinion (which I seem to be the Queen of lately) I like Kristen Stewart. I haven't seen Twilight (tried reading the books and couldn't get through Twilight), but I want to because I've liked her since I saw her in Panic Room. I saw Cold Creek Manor only because she was in it.

As for TV, In Plain Sight was AMAZING this week. Royal Pains not as much, but I'm still on board. And Burn Notice was sweet.

Per usual, more recs

Sneaky J2 being hot and sneaky. I LOVE quicky!fic.

[livejournal.com profile] laceandgrace: Sleep In Heavenly Peace (RPS, J2, PG-13)
Schmoopy sneaky Xmas-y fic. :D

[livejournal.com profile] dev_earl: (We're Going Down) Only This Way (RPS, J2, R)
This gets a bit repetitive with the poetic rhythm, but it's sweet and gentle. It works-- for a "Jen's birthday" fic.

[livejournal.com profile] dev_earl: This, Right Here (RPS, J2, NC-17)
Jared using LJ against Jensen! Bwahaha. I was actually thinking of this fic last week when I turned on my computer. I love how angsty it starts out, that you almost forget there's porn coming on the way and then it finishes ends beautifully.

[livejournal.com profile] kickabouttheart: Up Close and Personal (Supernatural RPS, J2, NC-17)
I was way into my con fic before I found this one, which does it more justice than I ever could. But it's also more PWP than I would write, so I didn't give up completely on my own fic.

It's 4 freaking AM. Big Love must wait yet again. BUT JIMMY FALLON TOMORROW NIGHT!!! I'm gonna be downtown tomorrow so I might just stalk around town and Twitter because I am a low-life and obsessed. You know how people say Change came to Washington when Obama was elected? I feel like Jimmy Fallon on Late Night is that change for talk shows. IDEK. Words cannot express. There may be picspams, I'm just saying.

You guys, my dad (and my newfound Gaiman obsession) has turned me onto this podcast called The Moth and I highly recommend you go check it out. It's a bunch of stories by people from all walks of life, but it's not the "Once a upon a time" type of stories. They're more like, "This is what happened to me this day in June two years ago," type deals. The lot of them are interesting, although some are hysterical and others are heart-wrenching. I was planning on making a huge "Podcasts I love and you should check out!" post soon, so I'll upload some of the better stories that I enjoy then. But until then, check out the episodes on iTunes, because they seem to update a lot and I don't want you guys to miss out on a gem that I haven't listened to yet.

Speaking of podcasts, wtf is up with AC360˚ getting longer? When I first started listening it was around 10 minutes long, and now it's up to 30 minutes. I hate just watching the latest episodes of news podcasts because I want to know what was going on in the world while I was ultra busy. But seven hours of old news is almost too much. I clearly have priorities though, because being seven episodes behind on Diggnation is almost nothing to me (I'm actually only one episode behind atm).

Big Love )

I had such a great day yesterday. Friday the 13ths are usually lucky for me anyway, but I was in a really happy, contented mood instead of my usual "meh". I left my iPod on accidentally the night before and it somehow lasted the whole day on a sliver of a red line battery. And I found $60 in assorted forgotten birthday/holiday cards from two years ago and went on a book-shopping spree where I found most of what I was looking for. And Psych was good and I had great food (flatbreads from Dunkin' Donuts, woot!).

I saw Push and I loved it. Which is weird, because all my criticisms are the same I had of The Covenant (not enough explanation of the world), but it works somehow. I'm clearly a sucker for "people with powers" movies and also anything with Chris Evans (and Djimon Hounsou). I need to think of a new layout.

Also, since everyone's mentioning it. I'm not a big romance person, but Happy Valentine's for those of you celebrating.

I can't wait for February 27th. I don't care that I'm going alone and have to travel more than an hour to the theatre but I am seeing that 3D Jonas Brothers movie. I love that I found out about the movie from Neil Gaiman's Twitter of all places. And I'm highly amused that seeing the Jonases > seeing Fanboys (I didn't want to travel to see Fanboys so figured I'd just watch it on DVD, but already mapped out my plans to see 3D!Jonas). BUT IT'S IN 3D! Joe Jonas in 3D. Yes. And I just remembered they're on SNL tonight. YUSSS.

Since I'm rambling on music, The Lonely Island CD is amazing. First of all, they have the Natalie Portman rap on there that I adored when it came out, and then there's "Sax Man" with JACK BLACK, AHAHA. \o/ I think Dream Girl with Norah Jones is the best track, though. Or "I'm On A Boat," simply because it's a million times better than every legitimate egotistic rap song ever.

What's the difference between a mass market paperback and a trade paperback? I want to use my BN gift card to buy Good Omens finally, but the mass market is almost seven dollars cheaper than the other. My research tells me there's no illustrations in a mass market paperback, but... since when were there illustrations in adult fiction? Unless they mean those drawings at the beginning of some book chapters like they do in Harry Potter. In which case, are they really worth an extra $7?

I'm caught up on Supernatural. I needed to clear room off my iPod to download the rest of Mad Men and I'm planning on burning Avatar to a DVD, so I can't delete that just yet. So I went for the folder with the smallest amount of files to finish and that was SPN.

Further thoughts behind the cut:

Supernatural season 4, so far... )

Avatar: The Last Airbender )

I like that I'm caught up on The Office and now I usually have nothing to say on a weekly basis. Um... Michael was adorable?

Burn Notice )

Mad Men is boring me. I keep finding reasons to leave the room, so it took me three hours to finish two forty minute episodes, and I'm now on episode three. If it doesn't peak my interest by episode six, I might throw it on the Life On Mars UK pile and watch it when I have time on the bus. I want to at least watch one season (sometimes the good episodes don't come early on, Brothers & Sisters hooked me on episode 1x10), but if I'm this bored? I have other things on my list, thanks. I still have to re-watch Psych from last week, once I catch up on mail and such.

This icon pretty much sums up my week. Oh, Robin. How alike we are. Except, I'm not as easy.

ETA: Last Airbender open casting call in Philly tomorrow!

I'll be nice and cut everything together, even though all I have to say about everything is essentially one sentence per show/episode.

Fringe, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (401 and 402), Sons of Anarchy, Burn Notice, Ultimate Fighter )

WHY IS HEROES THREE HOURS ON MONDAY. NOW I CANNOT TAPE HIMYM AND BBT, WHICH MEANS I CAN'T WATCH THEM UNTIL TUESDAY. WAY TO FAIL, NBC.

I think I'll spend the rest of the day playing Dominos (I just found a bunch of freeware versions), fleshing out a new layout (much easier now that I use rotating headers), and watching movies (Vanishing Point and War Stories). Eventually, I'll post a sims update next week (omg, whatever happened to them! I know, I know).

Lia
bohemia: (Psych - Shawn sleeping)
I woke up today thinking, "I have to choose between Shawn Spencer and the Olympics today?" Eh, it's easier to watch three hours of people walking around a stadium with flags when it's DVR'd and you can fast forward. And then I realized I essentially chose Shawn Spencer over my country.

I think the Olympics will be even more interesting this time around because of everyone here on LJ that I know now from around the world. Yes/no? Too cheesy?

Still, I'm going to see Pineapple Express tonight so I might get home a few minutes late for Psych. In the meantime, it's been a while since I spoke about My Boys-- or any show besides Psych, really.

My Boys )

I don't usually pimp friending memes, but if you only participate in one a year, this should be the one for this year. A big hello to all my new friends, I have a sticky post here, with a lot of links and a intro post :)

Two nights ago while I was relaxing and doing some bonus Professor Layton puzzles on my DS I think I had an minor heart attack (from my "research" it sounds more like this)? It's happened before where I had to slow down while walking, but this was the most intense pain I'd had while lying down. I couldn't breathe properly for a while, either. I only have hypotension (low blood pressure) and nothing else has ever showed up in EKGs and other tests, so my body is just messing around with me. It's really annoying.

I should go do ... stuff. I found a great Russian Tenacious D site with their HBO stuff, so I'm off to watch that before the movies tonight.
