I saw Fight Club for the first time the other day. I had been spoiled by VH1 for the ending a while ago and tried to forget it but I couldn't. I can't say anything about that hasn't been said, really, but I like how Tyler kept flashing in the background and foreground of different scenes before the narrator met him. And then I saw Inglourious Basterds tonight, but I'm still processing how I felt about it (aka where it falls on my list of favorite Quentin movies). However, Eli Roth has mesmerized me and even though I have no desire to see Hostel, I just may watch Cabin Fever again (I love that movie). >.>

I also read Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist yesterday and it's a great book but nowhere near deserving the great movie they made from it. I just want to re-watch the movie (and tomorrow it's the movie of the day on movieoftheday on Tumblr! kasadsjakfhdadsaf). But first I want to finish reading A Brave New World because this book is AMAZING and I really wish I'd read this instead of like, Catcher in the Rye in high school. Although I can see why they didn't put this one on our list.

P.S. I keep watching HBO in between the movies just to see the Bored to Death promos. It's a problem.

I've got the finale of October Road, if anyone wants it? It's a ten minutes wrap-up (and I called so many things that it reveals) but for the four or five of you who watched it, it's a nice closer to that series.

Hung is thirty minutes. I didn't realize that until it took an hour to catch up. So that's what they're scheduling with Entourage! I was so confused by HBO's Sunday lineup. It's good so far, but just something to entertain myself with when I'm bored. Same with Entourage. Seth Rogen is apparently a hater, but maybe he should learn to laugh at himself.

I'm a moron. Since the fall season began I've been using another browser entirely on Monday nights so I don't get spoiled from LJ Add-ons or TwitterFox. I remembered this afternoon that I could just hide the status bar and still use Firefox. *fails*

Of course today is the day that no one posted spoilers, apparently. Which isn't a bad thing, but ah, irony!

Saturday was a running around blur, but I did get new glasses. They're... plastic again, sadly. I couldn't deal with the metal frames bothering my nose. In a complete reversal of what you'd expect, I'm actually liking them less, the more I stare at them on my face. Oh, well. Incentive to wear contacts more often (these new Acuvue Advanced are glorious!), I guess.

They played a commercials for The Mentalist during the last commercial break. Really? Simon Baker, I used to like you a lot. I'm not sure where you went wrong but this dramatic rip-off of Psych isn't helping (btw, is Reaper still airing?). Moar originality in shows, plz.

P.S. ROFLMAO, I love Penny Arcade!

My sister had brought over the Allure magazine that just happened to have Britney on the cover around last week. I read the article, assuming it was going to read like the Britney come-back special™. It was far from that, and just made me feel even worse for Britney. I forgot where it was that I saw (it may have even been "Entourage") that when stars lose contact with family, they lose contact with reality and their roots. And then watching the VMA performance (I forgot it was on, and I was watching a news story on it so I YouTube'd it), how dull and unenthusiastic Britney looked... I have so much hope for her, because she symbolizes my teenage years and yet I just see her fading faster and faster. If she doesn't want to come back to performing, then don't. I don't want some half-assery like every other act that's already out there. And then the news clip I saw immediately switched to Justin and that just burned me. It was like, "Meanwhile, the one who stands tall over the lifeless music careers of late 90s pop was awesome as usual because how can you not love him because he is JT, the king of the world." Spare me.

And then the other day I was in the car with my dad and I was playing Mika and my dad kept saying how much he liked it. He was trying to tell me about M.I.A., who I always confuse for MIMS, and how she was like a mix of Gwen Stefani and Missy Elliott. And I'm thinking, God, my dad knows more about contemporary music than I do. I mean, he knew Matchbox 20 and Kid Rock were coming out with albums. Where have I been? But then we go home and my mom's watching Justin's concert and saying how she really likes him and that kind of ruined that whole moment. lol

I feel so out of place without knowing anything new about "Lost". Seeing my TV schedule and not seeing "Lost" somewhere on Wednesday confuses me. I can only imagine what it'll be like when it's off the air. I guess this is my yellow taxi moment. It's pretty funny how the one series I'm actually in the mood for is not coming back. That's not true. I want to see "HIMYM"-- I want to know if it starts with Barney going, "-Dary!" and I'm excited for "Cane" too because I see the billboards every-bloody-where and I just want to see it already.

I love how I'm not even thrilled for any other returning shows. Well truthfully, the two other big ones are "Heroes" and "Supernatural" and there's so much going on in both of those fandoms that I feel I'm far behind. And I never got around to catching up on "House" and "The Office" (although TBS starts showing that soon so hooray.)

This entry is long, sorry. Then again, I haven't been posting like usual so I guess it can be forgiven?

My dad almost bought me a Ravenclaw tie yesterday. He remembers my house! That's pretty cool. And I swear I haven't been all "OMGHP" to him, like I usually am with my fandoms. I know he's the least likely (besides my nephew) to ever read the books so I take pity. I don't know why I didn't think of going to FAO Schwarz to check out the HP stuff. I still want that Neville and Snape shirt from Hot Topic. I want to hold off on the tie and scarf until we know when the movies premiere, because I'm not going to wear a tie no one will see under a coat and I'm not going to wear a scarf in the summer. And then I have to track down fans that will actually be obsessive-fan with me, all decked out, so I don't feel alone.

And BTW, thanks to everyone for all this Wizard Rock. Which... I'm not listening to now, because this DAMN SONG IS IN MY HEAD. But when I skadaddle in two minutes, I shall revel in all the non-Muggleness.

It is so hot for no reason! And my TV's volume continues to die down when Entourage starts, but blares back up when FotC comes on. Not on, I don't care about those dudes!

P.S. The Sims 2 Seasons is kind of boring. At least the summer season, I haven't gotten to the others yet. I tried killing Eileen Prince with hot cocoa in the summer but she stayed alive. I'm not really a fan of the whole gardening thing either... I have Harvest Moon for that.
