That sounds like a terrible party...

My sister had brought over the Allure magazine that just happened to have Britney on the cover around last week. I read the article, assuming it was going to read like the Britney come-back special™. It was far from that, and just made me feel even worse for Britney. I forgot where it was that I saw (it may have even been "Entourage") that when stars lose contact with family, they lose contact with reality and their roots. And then watching the VMA performance (I forgot it was on, and I was watching a news story on it so I YouTube'd it), how dull and unenthusiastic Britney looked... I have so much hope for her, because she symbolizes my teenage years and yet I just see her fading faster and faster. If she doesn't want to come back to performing, then don't. I don't want some half-assery like every other act that's already out there. And then the news clip I saw immediately switched to Justin and that just burned me. It was like, "Meanwhile, the one who stands tall over the lifeless music careers of late 90s pop was awesome as usual because how can you not love him because he is JT, the king of the world." Spare me.
And then the other day I was in the car with my dad and I was playing Mika and my dad kept saying how much he liked it. He was trying to tell me about M.I.A., who I always confuse for MIMS, and how she was like a mix of Gwen Stefani and Missy Elliott. And I'm thinking, God, my dad knows more about contemporary music than I do. I mean, he knew Matchbox 20 and Kid Rock were coming out with albums. Where have I been? But then we go home and my mom's watching Justin's concert and saying how she really likes him and that kind of ruined that whole moment. lol
Psych: I'm so happy there's another week coming of Psych. My day was already going good, a bit off, but good. But then that made it all the better. I'm sort of disappointed that the producers and USA people don't seem to be eye to eye with Franks and the writers about the order of episodes-- confusion and disorder this early in the series is never good for business. But in every interview it seems that everyone's in harmony, and if Roday says it...... I believe it.
Last week's was pretty cool. This entire two weeks after it, I kept thinking how awesome it would be to have Shawn teach. You wouldn't learn anything worth a curriculum, but you'd have the best fun of the week. Lassiter seems to have something to do with docks a lot and apparently he likes capsing, which should make everyone at
capslock_psych really, really happy. Oh, and I'm starting to wonder why Shawn has a fascination with swans or bird-like structures suddenly.
But anyway, I feel really bad for Gus-- how everything Shawn can do spectacularity, Gus fails horribly at. Giving candy to kids, wondering if there's any kids being left unwatched... oh poor Gus. Someone as smart as he should know better. But that's why they're a team and that's what makes it so funny. This week's was kind of long winding and confusing at parts (and who laced the Chief's drink?!) though. But, again, much Buzz and Shawn/Juliet (which has become the obvious relationship it was meant to be). And one more week, so that's all good.
Big Brother: Oh Eric, you deserved that boot. I loved it, "I will fight as long as I'm in this house." Next hour, GONE. Go be with your showmance nose-talker.
CBS over-ran 60 Minutes, so I missed Zach's noms. I did however see the results online and oh, how how sweet it is. He figured it out just like Erika and Janelle did last year. Hopefully he can carry Jameka with him and boot out Dick and Danielle. I was rooting for Dick and Danielle only against Eric and Jessica. Now, I'm going for Zach. Because he's finally getting a brain. Go, Zach, go!
Entourage: I hate when HBO cuts seasons like that. Lame money grubbers. I like pretending that while I await a new season Vince is doing a project (it also kind of helps that in the off-season Adrian does do a project). Now I'm just aimlessly awaiting the rest of the chase for the next project. Unfun. This also means I have to wait longer to see if they throw Rex Lee's name into the credits. But oh, Drama's chase for the luxury of being a celebrity without actually being a celebrity is great. it's funny because so many people in today's world are famous for doing nothing and get better hotels than he does. And here he is: a television star and has-been almost sci-fi idol who can't even get a decent room. His ignorance is bliss. At least Turtle doesn't disguise the fact that he's living off Vince.
And please, no more Billy. He was cool during Queens Blvd., but now he's just being retarded.
My Boys: I doubt anyone watches this but me. But whatever. In the last few weeks they've had Jeremy Sisto, Ryan Reynolds (only for a split second, I don't even like him much but the scene was funny) and have made fun of Sex and the City. I've forgotten the names, but the blonde one should've gotten with Mike. I could see them hooking up. I'm also glad Brendan got over his douchebaggery. I wish it were that easy with real friends. *sigh*
And I'm saying it here, so when it happens I can gloat: Kenny is going to end up with Stephanie. I would like either Brendan or Jeremy Sisto's dude to go with PJ, but I doubt that'll happen. It'd be nice if that Streisand owner came back (dude, I've even forgotten his name).
I feel so out of place without knowing anything new about "Lost". Seeing my TV schedule and not seeing "Lost" somewhere on Wednesday confuses me. I can only imagine what it'll be like when it's off the air. I guess this is my yellow taxi moment. It's pretty funny how the one series I'm actually in the mood for is not coming back. That's not true. I want to see "HIMYM"-- I want to know if it starts with Barney going, "-Dary!" and I'm excited for "Cane" too because I see the billboards every-bloody-where and I just want to see it already.
I love how I'm not even thrilled for any other returning shows. Well truthfully, the two other big ones are "Heroes" and "Supernatural" and there's so much going on in both of those fandoms that I feel I'm far behind. And I never got around to catching up on "House" and "The Office" (although TBS starts showing that soon so hooray.)
This entry is long, sorry. Then again, I haven't been posting like usual so I guess it can be forgiven?

Date: 2007-09-10 10:41 pm (UTC)It would be awesome to have Shawn for a teacher. Who cares if you don't learn anything! No one would dare cut that class because it would be so much fun and there would be tons of people trying to get into it even after it was full.
When Buzz had to come haul the two of them off the playground was so funny. Then neither of them would ride in the back. Ha ha. And how Shawn was zoning out during Juliet's marriage talk. I totally feel his pain. Stuff like that bores me to death.

Date: 2007-09-11 01:14 am (UTC)He'd probably teach us other skills anyway, and I'd just like to watch him bicker with Gus the entire time.
I know, poor Shawn. She seemed to be going on forever. It makes me wonder why she's planned out their marriage already...

Date: 2007-09-10 11:30 pm (UTC)I didn't know about the VMAs were on either! until like 10 minutes before it was over. :P A friend told me online that was it was on.
PSYCH! <3 LMAO, "Hi little girl, would you like some candy?" *Shawn holds out candy bag*
lol, And does Shawn have like a stash of pineapples in Gus's car?! Like whenever they went to the chief's house they went back to the car to look for a gift and then BAM! Shawn has a pineapple in.. ribbon. Haha, :P
I WAS gonna watch My Boys. I like Jordana Spiro and the show looked like something I would watch, but... I have way too many shows I'm watching already. I finally got the EW with Kate Walsh on the cover in the mail today. Talk about slow! Everyone I know got the issue on like.. Friday, and I get it on Monday. :P

Date: 2007-09-11 01:21 am (UTC)Yeah, it totally slipped my mind. Not like I was really paying attention...
It's Shawn's way of greeting people. It's funny because the first time you see the pineapple, it's in Gus's house in the pilot. But it's Shawn who's obsessed with them. I bet Gus buys them just for Shawn!
Well I didn't actually READ the EW issue until yesterday. I flipped through it when I got it and then threw it aside. I didn't even read last week's or the week before's!

LOL, me either! I actually think the last magazine where I read most of everything in it was the Harry Pottermania issue. :P

I have no idea. I think the next one is the bounty hunter one with Kevin Sorbo. I THINK. Who knows :P
