New friends, memes and TV

bohemiaI HAVE NEW FRIENDS, HELLLOO. Um, relevant links for you: a round-up of links, contact info and a introduction post here, a poll for a meetup I'm trying to organize here and the opt-in poll for my J2 writing filter (that will finally go into affect the moment I finish this fic I'm writing now) here.
Only three of my shows are new this week. And I guess Monk, because it's the last one and I have to see how it ends. I'm still not over Psych becoming the oldest show on USA. What is that. And I'm not over the random new move to Tuesdays either. That's Melrose Place/V/Lost night. And My Boys, I think. I never had shows on Tuesdays and then suddenly they're all attacking me that night. D: And the most TV I can watch live without DVR is two hours straight before I zone out so there will be problems with this schedule. DNW.
Anyway, have some memes and then some commentary/review/whatever on TV.

Disney - Mermaid. I used to use this icon more when my friend Hiram lived nearby, because we met when we went to see this when we were 3. It also serves as a great icon for crushes, unrealistic expectations or childhood in general-- which is how it gets used more often now.
IASIP - Filly. I adore this show and Charlie is my favorite character. He has dyslexia, and since this show is nothing if not politically incorrect this means he's practically useless with spelling, reading or writing. Plus, I tend to go to Philly a lot wheneversplits_thesky is there.
Lost - Fishes. lol, idk. This used to be my "OMG FOOOD" icon, but I'm not so much a glutton anymore and I want to replace it. Except I haven't found anything I like as much. I can't seem to keep Lost icons unless they are completely lulzy.
Leverage - Thumbs Up. This was a replacement for another icon I had for commenting my congratulations on posts. Plus, Hardison's my favorite character on Leverage.
My Boys - PJ. This is my drink icon, rarely my sports icon and always my icon when I'm out with my guy friends. PJ's a lot like me, a tomboy through and through.
Celebs - Extreemsem. LOL this comes from the week that the "Jensen is engaged" news broke out. I was rambling to my dad about it, and mentioned how Danneel had previously dated Riley Smith and how Jensen and Riley are friends. And my dad was like, "Guess he doesn't follow that bro code," And that got my mind going. And because I have a huge affinity for those "extreme advertising" macros, it lead to this. IDK, it was funny at the time but I barely use the icon so I'll probably delete it when I need the space.
I meant to do this in November, forgot and was just reminded earlier bytahu. :D
Day 01 → Your favorite song
Well, shit. I can't just pick a favorite song because there's different categories of favorite. I'll go by last.fm's idea of my favorite song:
Eeeee, if this, "Paint It Black" by The Rolling Stones, "Car Chase City" by Tenacious D or anything rare by Britney Spears comes on last.fm, I pretty much flip out. I looove it. Adding my various iTunes/iPod stats and last.fm (which doesn't scrobble my iPod) I have listened to it upwards of 300 times since 2006. NOT TIRED OF IT YET. sad;ksjaf;dhfgldfgjkldsf;dsfdshfdhjhg
I also pretty much died when I realized it was available for Rock Band 2. UNF.

So yeah, I'm in this for the long haul, even if the Kate plot is a bit too stretched. I don't even remember what danger she was in anymore, but I'll take it.
Brothers & Sisters was fun, despite all the melodrama.
Melrose Place: The main reason The OC was a great soap was the way it was soapy across the borders-- the adults had lives, the kids had lives. While it became ridiculously soapy as the years went on, I always did like that about it. And while I stay clear of a lot of soaps, whenever I do watch one I look for that aspect again. Melrose Place GETS IT ALL WRONG. I'm fairly certain the people who watch this version barely remember the original (I do, but I'm past this series, hell, this channel's target audience) so bringing the entire original cast back one by one isn't helping anyone. Barely anyone will tune in to watch the elder cast, the younger audience doesn't know what's going on and it takes away fromKatie Cassidy the cast. They can have their moments, but their drama isn't in this world so I don't care to watch it unless it directly involves what's going on in the actual world. Ugh. That said, I do like Amanda. But not so much that I want to see her just infiltrate the compound.
OMFG, RILEY YOU MORON. I don't care how crazy Violet's brother/lover (lol is this Cruel Intentions?) is, he's not armed and there's expensive camera equipment around. YOU TACKLE HIM WHILE VIOLET CALLS THE POLICE. Ugh, I love Jessica Lucas, okay but wtf. W.T.F.
Jonah himself is an annoying piece of skajd;shaf;gad. I can't, I can't. OMGs, you can't trust Ella? WHAT A SHOCKER. HELLOOO, ELLA. STFU and do the job or get out.
What, next week? WHAAAAT?!
Okay, I'm going back to writing. I'm determined to get to my J2 epic fic next week so I want to edit all the ones that have been beta'd and then finish this Britney/Justin one. I'm aiming for 12K but so far I have written only 2K in two days and it's only scenes here and there and nowhere near a cohesive story. IDK, I might just turn them into a series instead because it's super sloppy and I'm not sure I can fix it. It depends on what it looks like at the end of the week when I've written the skeleton.
