So that Mandy Moore...
Jun. 3rd, 2009 01:13 pmI went to the free Mandy Moore concert last night. It was okay. I got there around 5:30 and waited in line until they let us in at 7. There wasn't a lot of people who went, and Highline is pretty small. I liked the venue though-- there's seating so it can effectively be a nice dinner date if you're into those things. I want to go see The Roots play there on one of their jam dates. I'll have to look those up later.
ETA: Apparently they went on at 11:30pm last night. FAIL, but it is a weekly thing, so no biggie. Plus, apparently Bryan Greenberg will be at Highline on the 18th! SCORE.

Anyway, like I said, it was free and she was on my list of people I'd wanted to see live. And I got a scotch on the rocks and a white pizza slice out of it, so there's that.
It's apparently a week of musical revelations though. I realized that song my nephew's always singing-- the one I thought was a made-up silly jingle-- is actually a Jamie Foxx song called "Blame It". And I now know why I knew the lyrics to "Hook Up" by Kelly Clarkson on the very first time I heard it, even though I don't keep track of her anymore-- I have the same song by Katy Perry. And even though I still don't get the whole Lady Gaga phenomenon (and holy hell, she's my age? Way to make me feel accomplished!), "Poker Face" is an addicting song that makes me think of Castiel in the crackiest way.
