bohemia: (Lost - GEEK)
I didn't post on Saturday but it was James Roday's birthday. I usually make a picspam, but the man himself joined Twitter last week, so I just tweeted him a birthday wish. I kinda feel bad breaking a tradition, but it's a picspam, not a holiday parade. Also, it may not exactly be Jason Schwartzman (it's allegedly him and two staffers at Young Baby Records, although I wasn't aware they had staff), but @CoconutRecrds is on Twitter, so that's something.

I realize that there's a bit of a Twitter backlash lately and I realize that it might be because of the LoudTwitter posts. I know how annoying those can be, since I'm on Twitter and don't feel like reading everything twice. I usually skip the LoudTwitter posts, but it still takes up space on my flist. So for those Firefox users tired of those posts, I wanna point you to a Greasemonkey script called LJ-Twitterless. It doesn't get all of them, at least not for me. But it helps.

I saw Monster Vs. Aliens this weekend, and everyone in the house keeps quoting B.O.B.'s lines. :D I want an animated icon of B.O.B. with the jello at the end but I have no idea where to get caps or an icon. Coincidentally, I'm now in a Seth Rogen phase now, so I decided that this first week of spring break (it starts Wednesday and goes until the 20th) will be about the Apatow crew and finally watching all of Freaks & Geeks and Undeclared and then watching The Spiderwick Chronicles and Horton Hears A Who for Seth's V.O.s. :) Next week will be wrapping up Mad Men, Touching Evil, and starting either Queer As Folk or Friday Night Lights.

It turns out that I don't have much to say about TV. But here's thoughts on HIMYM, Big Bang )

I haven't even gotten around to re-watching Lost. BUT THE GAME, HAHA OMG. I got Via Domus because it was the cheapest game they had that I wanted at Toys R' Us, even if it was bad. The first moment you see Michael, I was like, "Hey, I'm going to ask him about Walt." So I walk up to him and click the button and he immediately goes, "I can't find my boy. Waaaaalllttt!" I about died laughing. The acting is okay, it just doesn't go with the stunted animations worthy of early PS2 games, so everything sounds like... the Resident Evil 1 school of acting. Or Iron Man. "TONY! MEN! WITH GUNS! OUTSIDEEE." "STAY. INSIDE! PEPPER." lolol, licensed games will never not be funny. I still want Watchmen: The End Is Nigh, Rorschach's rage burst and all. Don't judge me.

This weekend has ended on a good note.

Leo (my cockatiel) is back to singing, although he's not really eating anything more than millet (which is essentially snack food) and still hangs out with his mirror image. I miss the chorus of the two but it's good to hear the song again. He's totally anti-social though, because I went by the cage to chirp at him and he just turned his back to me.

And right now I guess every Psych fan on here is at James-Roday.net, but if you're not, GO! They have goodies from the S2 DVDs that are out on Tuesday (I'm getting mine Monday night). USA is finally playing promos for the new season and I'm so excited. I have to go buy pineapples soon, so I can make some Lassies.

I couldn't NOT talk about this. The sad thing is I'm already envisioning stalking the sets (because they have to shoot on location, mmkay?) and the LJ communities and the fandom in general. The pilot isn't even in production and I'm all excited. I'm determined that this will be more Entourage than John From Cincinnati in terms of ratings and stuff. HBO, I trust you can do it. JASOOOONNNNN. And Funny People starts shooting soon! *glee*

Since this entry is basically focused on "males that Lia loves" um... crap. Nothing exciting in Downey-land lately. Here? *fails*

WAIT. [livejournal.com profile] kkissbbang started up a newsletter that focuses on news about Val Kilmer, RDJ and Michelle Monaghan and it's pretty awesome. The new "issue" is here. Not so much about RDJ this time but whatever. Like I said, it's quiet in Downey-land this weekend.

P.S. My iTunes LOVES me today!

It's April 4th you say?

According to IMDB.com, it's also Heath Ledger's birthday, so I thought I should mention that first.

But it is also James Roday and Robert Downey Jr's birthdays (what are the odds really?), and so I put together a minispam of sorts, since that's how we celebrate birthdays in fandom-- showing you pictures of the person(s)!

So onto the spam! )

Here's to many more years for both of them. *raises Capri Sun*

YYAAAYYY.

Okay, now I'm going to go back to my movies, lalalala.

Lia

P.S. All pictures from james-roday.net and robert-downeyjr.net, and my own trailer caps.

ETA: According to ET (yes, I watched it specifically for the Birthday Quiz today, stfu) Robert Downey Jr is the first SNL cast member to be nominated for an Oscar.
bohemia: (Diggnation - Good times)
So last night I had this dream where Diggnation was live in the Irish Rogue and somehow James Roday was there. What. I don't know either. It was one of those flash-in-the-pan dreams, but I remember Alex and Kevin sitting near the windows in the corner of the room, James Roday in a teal polo (wtf?) and me wearing a Systm shirt. Now, if I could remember what beer they were drinking, I'd go stock up and buy a Systm shirt just to make it come true. How do they go from California to Japan and London and not NY? And no one knows what the hell I'm talking about. Moving on.

You know what? I think besides James Roday, Kevin Rose is the best well-rounded guy in my opinion. Yeah, that makes sense. Now, if Roday was a Mac geek or Kevin wrote a book then maybe they'd be competing more roughly. But right now they're kinda in different pools of love or what have you. SORRY, REALLY MOVING ON NOW.

I love mashups, man. I think the first one I heard was "The Real Slim Shady" to the backing track of "Oops! I Did It Again!" But this one? BOGGLES MY MIND. Because they actually altered the woman on "In The Closet" to sort of sound like Britney. Insanity. And skills. But mostly me being impressed and jealous. There's also this one, but as much as AC/DC kicks ass I like both songs separate.

And even though I don't own an iPhone, I would really like if Shapeshifter would WORK WITH ME so I can turn my computer into a iPhone rip-off, like I'm planning to do with my cell.

Psych, I don't want you to leave meeeeeeeee. *sobs* But it's on. Watch it, y'all.

Just when I think I'm up to date with my podcasts, five new episodes of various ones pop up. Thanks. Who told podcasts that the length for an episode must be an hour or more? I only have two hours a day whilst traveling to listen to stuff! *gripes some more*

Anycakes, Skinwalkers? So good. I found it amusing that two people from Shooter are in it, but I like Koteas and Mitra isn't that annoying. They twisted the legend around a bit, and from what I see on IMDB everyone hates the movie. It could've been worse in explaining the lore (The Covenant, anyone?) and the acting was good enough, considering. I kept comparing the boy to Liam James, but he was okay. They used that same stretch of road that Supernatural used two or three times though. Good old Canada.

Standing Still was also good, although it felt hollow. I guess I expected a bit more, although in what respects I have no idea. Also sorta stumpy in the ending was The Bourne Ultimatum. The flashbacks were done well. They're getting better with that anti-aging stuff. if you didn't see the first two Bourne movies ([livejournal.com profile] yffy, I'm looking at you), you're going to be a bit confused with all the talk.

Blonde was so boring. Eric Bogosian couldn't even save it and I barely paid attention by the second disc. Jensen's kimono scene was funny, but if you've seen one animated icon of it, you've seen the entire thing. I'm not a huge Monroe fan, but all these fictional accounts of her life are kinda annoying.

I'm in the middle of watching Tadpole and She's All That, but Sarah Michelle Gellar just popped up in She's All That, so I stopped it and I'll watch the last few chapters tonight. And dude, please thank whoever introduced Dulé Hill to weights. I'm not a muscle lover, but the man was a beanpole in that movie. Tadpole is interesting to say the least but I'm in love with half the cast so I'm probably biased.

If anything comes from Blockbuster before I finish what's taped on the DVR (I still have Alpha Dog to watch too, geesh!) I'll probably watch that. Hey, it's either a Alan Rickman movie or The Talented Mr. Ripley coming. Win all around.

This is getting long, but last night I saw "Man Band" and the "Singing Bee" and then the late night movie on NY 55/10 was On The Line, which is the one DVD of mine that has ceased to work at all. Oh, *NSYNC night it was. On the train I saw the ads for Justin's concert thing too, but I made sure to stand underneath it.

Oh dude, last night's Big Brother. JESSICA IS SO GULLIBLE OMG. Mom and I were laughing so hard. And then I told mom what that box Jameka had been praying on recently was (the Jack Shack), and we laughed even more.

Coldstone ice cream is no huge deal. Fun, but I like my ice cream cheap and with a variety of flavors. I'm not falling for that Starbucks mentality again. I do want to try Pinkberry though, because James Roday loves it and who am I to ignore Roday's style? And dude, you can have Cap'n Crunch, pineapples and bananas for a topping on Green Tea pinkberry. It's like... an official Psych dessert or something.

Lia

P.S. If you haven't read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series yet, dooo it. Hysterical. I'm only the second book in, but lololol

I'm so behind on TV. This hiatus had turned out being more excruciating than fun. Not on! And People need to stop whining about characters on TV shows going OOC two or three episodes into the new season. Seriously, calm the hell down.

On my way downtown today, I saw one girl reading DH and she was on chapter 36. And on the way home a man was on what looked like chapter seven by how far he was into the book. So even I am not the last to finish it in NYC. Awesomecakes. I really need to stop saying "awesomecakes." And my nephew will thank me when I forget "Not on!" as well.

Guess what fandom I'm completely caught up on (spoilers and such for the books and movies, so beware)! Now I just need to go read SBP yet again, now that I can understand wtf is going on.

Matt Damon really needs to stop giving me plot bunnies when I'm trying to finish other fics. Cease talking about living with men! And/or making movies where you walk around on rooftops.

PLUS, SKINWALKERS IS NOT PLAYING IN NYC. WTF IS THIS CRAP?! In all five boroughs!? *runs off to Canada*

Lia

P.S. I'm starving! I was promised lentil soup when I got home!
bohemia: (Diggnation - ROFLMAO)
Wow. The net is DEAD. I'm half amused, half saddened. Why don't I have friends like that NEAR ME, damnit!?

And now I want a video of Snape singing the theme to Fresh Prince. :/

EW YOU SLAY ME. Attack of the Show is watchable? Pereira and Munn are adorable? GAG ME NOW. And no one gets away with saying Pereira can have tough-minded conversations with anyone. I cannot take you seriously anymore, TV section. And now I don't feel so bad that you snub Psych every week.

Entourage )

Big Brother )

Damnit, I missed Monk and they didn't give it at 12am, and I'm not watching it at 2am. :P Tomorrow.

Psych )

Anyway, the five of you who aren't packed away reading a book this weekend! You should totally check out The Kill Point on Spike TV starting this Sunday! :) It's a mini-series but it still looks awesome. (And written by Todd Hartan, the other writer of Skinwalkers.)

Which brings us to Skinwalkers! If you're looking for something to watch this Friday at the movies, SKINWALKERS. That is all.

Lia

ETA: I love how I'm on hiatus but have managed to post at least once a day for half of this week.

GUESS WHAT TODAY IS!?!?!

IT'S JAMES RODAY'S 31ST BIRTHDAY!

Why are most of the men I fancy in their 30s? What the crap?

Anyway, picspamminess )

Just a lot of caps and pictures I've collected over the year. Plus, Psych comes back on July 13th. Today's just brimming with good news!

My dad is delayed in showing me these things. But anyway, if you've heard the podcast I linked to the other day, James Roday mentions spending some time in New York.

THIS MAY BE WHY.

*brainspasm*

I need tickets. Immediately. Anyone who wants to join me? I mean, I've got about a bloody week two weeks left! :O

Oh yeah, I finished the Psych sound clips.
bohemia: (Default)
I needed to type this somewhere because I had a wicked awesome but touching dramatic Psych-related mash-up of a dream last night/this morning. I'm typing it all up because it's one of those dreams that was really good and I remembered it all so I had to write it down. But that's not this post. That's the next post.

This post is about James Roday. OK, it's pretty well-known amongst the Roday-addicts (we need a cool fandom name...) that his birth name is James Rodriguez. He's from San Antonio, Texas. So it'd be safe to assume that the hispanic part of him must be Mexican. Texas is right there on the Mexico border after all. Which would be fine to leave it there. But Ryan Cabrera (you know Ashlee Simpson's best-friend/ex) is from Dallas, Texas just like the whole Simpson clan-- and he's half Colombian. Cameron Diaz has blonde hair like Ryan Cabrera, and she's half Cuban. (She's from San Diego, so that doesn't fit into our equation though. I was just rambling on blonde-haired hispanics for a second.) And Alexis Bledel? The chick from Gilmore Girls? She's half Argentinian and half Mexican and hails from Houston. WTF.

Look on a map of Central America and there's tons of Spanish nations, and South America is basically Spanish-world too. So I give up (for now) trying to figure out what James Roday is. I mean, it doesn't really matter but it'd be cool to know.

People, I come bearing loads of graphics. This is what happens when I want to zone out. I make stuff. And lots of.
