Dan: I don't stalk. I lurk, and when I'm not there you look for me.
Anna: How do you know if you're not there?
Dan: Because I am there, lurking from a distance.

I randomly decided to go on a LJ hiatus. As you can see, it didn't last too long but it felt good not waking up with my second thought of the day being OMG, I wonder what happened on LJ while I was asleep. So I just went through all the entries; and although I didn't comment all over the place, I did read everything. I love how I conveniently seem to miss drama. It's a funny thing with me. I was talking to my dad about it and he was like, "A group against pedophila? There shouldn't need to be a group, everyone should be against that!" And then I explained the fandom POV and I guess as an artist himself, he got it. You know, being art is art and rl is rl.
Hey, random: Did you know that "ain't" is a real contraction? It was a contraction of "am not." And then Dickens over-used it in his writing, which was seen as "ghetto" at his time and thenceforth it was banished from common English.
So what have I been doing? Sadly, not reading. You'd think I would've thought of that first. But no. I have, however, been falling more in love with Jason Schwartzman than I could have possibly imagined. I've had his debut on repeat, mixed with Rooney and Phantom Planet for good measure, watched all the Julius and Friends cartoons on YouTube (Clancy, Ellie and Worry Bear are awesome, I need to hunt down a Paul Frank store and buy some tees), watched the three movies of his that I own (and my mp4 of Marie Antoinette for the first time) and downloaded a sim of him from MTS2 (like I go anywhere else for my sims) for ImagiNation. Anyone know of a Jason Schwartzman-related moodtheme?
On the topic of sims, my Billy Lush/Kevin Donnelly sim has amazing genes that are going in some legacy of mine someday.
I also did not realize Alexa Ray Joel sang. She and I looked the same when we were born, so much so that my dad confused my mom when he brought her the paper that week in the hospital and said, "Look, Dali's in the paper!" We look nothing alike now, although I guess we both turned out to be creative types. Whenever she pops up in the news I pay attention, and her dad is amazing so I shall follow her music as well. And crap, she's playing Joe's Pub on the 7th of June. Anyone want to come along?
Oh, and what happened to dubayou.com/mytube?! It worked Tuesday!
I'm going to go finish randomly educating myself on topics I'm curious about (like etymology); as it has been pointed out to me, this is has become a summer thing of mine (possibly in lieu of reading?)

P.S. I watched what I could of today's Sci-Fi John Doe marathon since my Off-Centre, So Notorious and John Doe torrents just plain quit on me. Really good series, man. Check it out sometime.
