So I'm about to go shopping online for some new essentials (external passport hard drive, monitoring headset, new cage for my birdy, etc) but I wanted to pass these things along:

- I am now part of Pottermore? I wasn't even going to try to bother until October, and then splits_thesky got all excited about it yesterday and made one for me today! My username is FireboltLight136. Now to wait for my owl welcome letter.

A few months ago a director was on the show I work on and spoke about his new film about Latinos in The Bronx that was shot in The Bronx. I was really excited to hear anything about it, and justspaz may remember me flipping out when they gave out flyers at Pride. Now there's a trailer, I understand why they were at Pride. And I'm even more excited because the director, Rashaad came back today to promote the opening of the film--the premiere is tomorrow at my favorite movie theatre in The Bronx and brought Esai Morales along. It was a big event and we pulled it off. I'm pretty excited and plan on seeing the movie as soon as I can--hopefully this weekend, because as they say, money talks on opening weekend. If you're in or around NYC and can see it, you should! And if it's not playing anywhere near you, request a screening! I know it worked for Paranormal Activity and that movie wasn't nearly as important as this one (in terms of topics, subject matter, etc), so I KNOW it can happen for GRH.

I do remember those flyers (and Judy Reyes being attached!). It looks amazing. I'm totally ignorant of the indie theater scene in Philadelphia, but if anyone (coughDivyacough) can give me names I'll request for there!

lulz, is this a question?? If so, my answer is play theaters! I took that one theater class in college, right, so we went around to a bunch of Philly theaters throughout the semester to see various things. I'm still on a couple mailing lists, actually!

I used to be so well versed in the indie theatres of Manhattan but most of the ones I loved are closed now/under new management so I'm just as lost as you. But yeah, Google! YOU NEVER KNOW.

I have only heard of like, 2 theaters in all of Philly, and one is the tiny six screen Rave one on campus which wouldn't work, and there was one in like, Old Cityish territory that played Jane Eyre, so maybe that's ~indie enough?

I heard it would be rolling, like based on what day you signed up? But that may have been a rumor. Alas, according to said rumor, Day 5 wouldn't be until early September. Boo hiss.

It's sort of ridiculous how even registering early may not get you into Pottermore before October. You'd think part of being a beta-tester is being a part of the beta. I don't know anyone who's gotten into the actual site yet.

Same here! The point of a beta is to actually be a part of the beta. I've never been a part of the fandom when Jo was doing her sneaky website tricks for the titles and such, but I have been a part of betas before and ... this is not how they are usually run. :/

I missed out on most of her website stuff too. I've never been in a beta, but it does seem like they should be run differently.

I do understand that they simply can't let everyone in at once, but I don't think anyone is in yet.

I just Googled the welcome letter and checked the pottermore tag on Tumblr and it seems like the site has taken away the log-in and gone back to the "sign up for email" button. I saw something that said the change might have to do with the riots but not sure how accurate that would be.

....you know what I just realized (that OBVZ you need to know), I only actively watch 6 shows, now, 3 of which are British sci-fi (Doctor Who, Being Human, Primeval), and three of which are on CBS (HIMYM, TBBT, Hawaii Five-0).

I mean, I'm currently behind on all of them except HIMYM, but, like, I REALLY want to catch up, I miss the others!

This is just weird to me because I keep feeling like I have a TON of shows I watch, all of which I have seasons upon seasons to catch up on for. But yeah, like, Lost and SGA (and the Dresden Files, which I watch on Netflix sometimes) are done, so there's no hurry, and, like...I'm sort of okay on leaving SGA, House, Psych, and Misfits behind?? I mean, like, with those, there is always a possibility I'll start watching again, but....rn I doubt it.
...and, like, there's other stuff I'll watch eps of, if they're on (Brothers & Sisters, Criminal Minds, CSI: NY), but, yeahhhh, not really motivated enough to watch religiously.

I am actively... well, idk, I was going to give up most of my fall shows too. I haven't watched any of my summer shows in forever... I should take next week maybe and catch up on them, since apparently most of them are wrapping up already. But I still care about them whereas the fall shows are a burden... I may wait until Chuck is finally over and just watch it all in one sitting because I enjoy it more that way But the others... let's put it this way:

Shows I'm leaving (may watch as seasons are over): Psych, BBT, HIMYM
Shows IDK RN: Being Human UK + US, Modern Family, Always Sunny, Misfits
Shows I'll watch once the season is over: Chuck, Entourage, Ricky Gervais, BTR

.........is Misfits back yet? I HAVEN'T EVEN TOUCHED PRIMEVAL YET, ENGLAND. CALM YO SHIT.

Also, yeah, during the VEDAs when Luke was like, "What shows are you watching!!" I couldn't think of a main "OMG THIS SHOWWWWWWW." I just sat there like, "MOACA is cool? IPS is a treat on Sunday nights???"

Also, Kat Dennings is going to be in a sitcom this fall so, that will be a thing for me, obvs.
