Insomnia and television

I HAVE BEEN AWAKE SINCE THURSDAY AT 4PM. IF I DON'T SLEEP TONIGHT I WILL GO INSANE. I guess I've been home too long. I need to actually use the energy I'm gaining at night so I can actually get back on schedule. Maybe tomorrow, I need to do a few things and there's movies to be seen downtown.
Oh, by the way-- I made it back in July, but I spent a good while on Wednesday cleaning it up for the premiere. So I now declare
boredtodeath_tv officially open, for those interested. I'm not sure if it looks okay in IE because I only have IE 4.0 and it looks busted there. But hopefully it works in later versions.
Leverage: The episode was okay. These last few episodes have been a little tricky for me to keep up with but I enjoy the small twists and I have no idea how they'll work with that ending in the next episodes but I shall miss this show in the hiatus!
Supernatural: 1. So they escape from Lucifer and get on Oceanic flight 666 and then suddenly go back to driving? What happened right there? God? Michael? ....'kay.
2. I LOVE Lucifer and his vessel. I like that even though Lucifer is the ultimate BAMF, he's still only an angel and needs permission to hop into someone. LOLOL WHAT.
3. If Bobby had actually died.... I wouldn't been so pissed but then
winged_dreams mentioned about victims dying when they get stabbed with it and I couldn't remember someone who hadn't had their throat slit... but then I remembered Ruby. So yeah, maybe Bobby should've died because I hate when they change rules like that. Then again, it's Kripke.
4. FUCK YEAH MEG.
5. Sam's face during that whole rant of demon!Bobby's. I lol'd. Damn puppy, grow up.
6. I love Sam and Dean apart, I think it's better because shit always goes down when they're apart and it makes for more interesting episodes (even though I was going LOL LEARN YOUR LESSON SAM ON HIS OWN IS A BAD IDEA). But then when they get back together it's emoing all over on the side of the road time and that, my friends is a huge DNW. IDC if it's on the CW.
7. NEXT WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!! Rufus will eventually die, as it goes on this show, but I never actually got attached to him, so whatever.
I'm so damn on board for this season. From the title cards to Meg to next week's teaser, I think it may be my new favorite season. WE SHALL SEE.
Also, I don't think anyone who watches this watches Party Down but I lol'd at Zachariah's "Are we having fun yet?"
Psych: This episode was gorgeous. It wasn't funny, silly old Psych and it wasn't super-serious new Psych but it felt mature and yet made me laugh. Something about the way it was shot or directed-- I loved it (and I didn't catch who directed/wrote it?). And Roday with the acting in that first scene, n'awwww. Shawn gets so worried about his buddies. I also love how Lassiter has become this actual character that I can get behind and not just an antagonist.
The whole Speed scene and Shawn's moment of save-the-day!fail at the end, LOL FOREVER.

Date: 2009-09-12 05:26 am (UTC)I like Rufus, I'm going to be sad when he kicks it. :(
OMG THE NEW TITLE CARD IS SO BAMF.

Date: 2009-09-12 07:10 am (UTC)I kinda accepted Rufus would die in that episode he was introduced so he's kinda already dead to me, otherwise I think I liked him too. I'd rather have Tamara back, though.
I did victory arms when I saw the new title card. It's the first time since S2 where I wanted it as an icon. I'm hoping someone actually does one soon. :)

Date: 2009-09-12 03:56 pm (UTC)Have you tried listening to music or reading before bed? Maybe you are worried and that is keeping you all wound up and not allow your body to relax.

Date: 2009-09-13 09:04 am (UTC)I usually have this one playlist that I listen to before bed that's usually guaranteed to make me fall asleep by the fifth song. I listened to the whole thing that night five times. And reading doesn't really help, but then again my lamp is super-bright so that could be the problem. I seem to be wound up a lot lately, but I can't think of much to do to unwind.

Date: 2009-09-13 09:07 am (UTC)And yes, I did! Although I'm not sleepy yet tonight either so... it seems to be a continuing problem.
I LOVE that Dean icon!

Date: 2009-09-13 02:38 pm (UTC)I sometimes have the same problem with my sleeping patterns so I started taking some pills that help me fall asleep. They're not the regular sleeping pills, instead they're herbal-ish. They work like a charm. Have you considered trying something like that?

Date: 2009-09-14 06:05 am (UTC)I have sleeping pills! The regular kind, though. I never know when to use them because by the time I decide I could really use their magic, I don't have enough time to stay sleeping for the recommended six hours. :/

Date: 2009-09-14 12:26 am (UTC)I like to listen to old TRS eps as I fall asleep, because then it's comforting, right, but also - I already know what they're going to say, so I don't really have to be paying attention. If I start right from the beginning I generally pass out somewhere in the middle of Video Games.
And, you've probz had this happen to you, but actually, it's kind of cool, because you can sort of feel yourself falling asleep - like, I'll be listening, and then it'll just dawn on me that I missed that last thing they said, but every time I try to refocus I just keep zoning ouuuuut, and - then I'm asleep, idk.

THIS. THIS. THIS.
Psych was good! And it was different, you're right because it was more personal to them team. And the direction did seem different. Went to the file, written by Kell Cahoon and Bill Callahan, directed by Tawnia McKiernan.

Sometimes when they get personal I'm wondering why isn't the episode more about the case, like in "Ghosts," but this had a nice balance. I had to look those names up, but that director seems totally competent with those kinds of episodes. Makes sense (lol at VIP on her credits. I actually loved that show)
