bohemiaI had all these things I wanted to do tonight (write, read fanfic, upload fanmixes, watch movies) but last night I had these disjointed dreams that don't make sense and those always make me feel like I didn't rest properly. So I've been scatterbrained all day-- jumping from one topic to another, making no sense in conversations, stumbling over my feet... it's been bad.
It probably doesn't help that I've been slightly hysterical over certain things and haven't eaten more than once a day in the last two weeks.
ANYWAY, TL;DR: I CAN'T CONCENTRATE ON ANYTHING THAT MEANS ANYTHING TO ME RIGHT NOW, SO NOW I'M GOING TO GET ALL MEMEAGE ON YOU.

How I Met Your Mother
01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
It wasn't on my list of shows to actually watch when it started, but I came home from school exactly when it started, so I ended up watching the pilot. Which I hated. I refused to give it another try until I had school off the day they gave "Liberty Bell" and I couldn't find anything else to do. That episode had me laughing like mad so I stuck around. :D
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
TIL THE END. For some reason Monday nights have always been when my favorite show was on. Ally McBeal, HIMYM...
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
"Lucky Penny", only because I ride that train in Pelham to the last stop both ways so every time I get on I'm like, "YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE WHERE THE TRAIN TURNS AROUND" and then giggling because both stops are actually amazing (Pelham Bay Park and Brooklyn Bridge). My other favorite episode is
"Swarley," just because Morena Baccarin's in it.
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
I tried to. But I can't get into the fanfiction and the shippers sometimes drive me nuts (BrOTP isn't about white picket fences, ppl). But I do discussions and graphics at times.
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
I think Dr. Horrible did a lot for the fandom. And Knocked Up and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Funny, they expected a lot of people from Knocked Up and Britney Spears but the real surge came after Dr. Horrible, I think. I remember when three people on my flist watched this show. Now it seems everyone does.

It was on my list of shows to watch, especially because that was the fall where the geeks were the stars (Big Bang Theory, Chuck) and I had to see if they were any good or made fun of the geeks. Plus, Adam Baldwin.
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I left for a while because the episodes weren't tugging at me and I had too much to watch on Mondays (HIMYM, BBT, Heroes, K-Ville, Chuck). But now I'm back and I won't leave until the end, I'm assuming. They can't upset me too much with this show.
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
I don't really know. I liked Chuck Vs. Tom Sawyer, but none really stick out as LOL BEST EVER in hindsight.
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Discussions, mostly. I want to try some fics but I haven't gotten around to them. And I'm never recc'd any good fic and there's so much (and so many ships) that I don't know where to start.
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
I think it's better now than I was in the first season, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that's not a geek because only geeks would get all the references that make it funny to me.

I had seen some ads for it on the buses and my friend José used to watch it, but I never got into it untilctsquirrel sent me the pilot. And then when I had the money I grabbed the 1&2 DVD and caught up from there.
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
Stay. These people are too ridiculous to not continue on.
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
"The Gang Gets Invincible" and "Charlie Goes America All Over Everybody's Ass" for the LPM (laughs per minute). Or whatever episode it was that they parodied One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. BECAUSE LOLOLOL FRANK ILU.
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
There really isn't much of one. Someone tried to start up an on-going post a laack_attack's Lost posts, but it only lasted about two episodes.
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
YES. But I can imagine a few friends who would watch an episode and go, "She finds this funny?"

diggnation - My favorite podcast. It's not even about the tech and oddball news anymore for me. It's watching two friends have a ball every week talking about random shit and going off on tangents. If I had friends that could hold conversations like Kevin and Alex, I would be the happiest person ever. I can always watch old episodes or the holiday clip shows on my iPod and spend hours laughing at their silliness.
happy endings - I LOVE THIS MOVIE. So much of this relates to my mindset in 2005. Jason Ritter and Maggie Gyllanhaal's relationship, Jesse Bradford's ending, Lisa Kudrow's whole plotline. The way Steve Coogan messes his life up. UGH. <333
jeff cannata - First of all. Second of all. Third of all. Jeff shows me it's okay to be a huge kid. He's very protective of his geekiness too, so whenever he goes into a rant on The Totally Rad Show about the geeks inheriting the Earth or how mainstream doesn't get geeks, I'm usually shouting, "YES, THANK YOU, JEFFREY CANNATA!"
morgan webb - Girl gamers are super protective of our status as the underdogs. But if anyone is the Queen Girl Gamer, it's Morgan Webb. She's the co=host of X-Play on G4TV, and had a podcast for a while called WebbAlert about tech news. And she's probably the only girl that can flirt and fangirl her way through an interview and still maintain my respect. Plus, she was around WAY BEFORE OLIVIA MUNN. SUCK IT, OLIVIA.
sin city - Quite possibly my favorite movie. I think that a favorite movie should be something with substance, and this movie is definitely not To Kill A Mockingbird or Citizen Kane. But a lot of its quotes ring true for me and I always feel a lot better after at least watching The Hard Goodbye
totally rad show - My second favorite podcast, mentioned above under Jeff Cannata. When a new game or movie comes out I check with these guys to see if I'll like it. If Alex likes a game, I know I'll like it. If Dan likes a game, I'll probably be bored with it. If Jeff likes a game, I'll probably play it with my family, since Jeff's a big kid. If Alex likes a movie, it's probably fun. If Jeff likes a movie it's probably creative and artistic in whatever way. If Dan likes a movie, the movie geek in me comes out. Plus after so many years of being made fun of by my sister for being such a movie critic and knowing random trivia, Dan makes me feel better about myself when he goes off on his little tangents.

This is from back in the day when I came to LJ to be an icon maker! And I decided all my icons were going to be from Psych, and I needed a headdesk icon. I had this cap for some reason from "9 Lives" and decided to make it from that. I had deleted it once and some of my friends made a fit about it, lol. So I brought it back and haven't gotten rid of it again.
BARNEY ON THE SUBWAY IS THE GREATEST THING EVER. It's my icon for when I'm talking about NYC or the city (re: Manhattan) in general.
This is my voice post icon. The irony is that it's an icon of two guys on the phone just being completely quiet.
Because I'm late to the game, this was the scene I started shipping Barney and Robin. The icon's actually a manip of two poses from that scene, because I wanted Robin looking at Barney but I also liked Barney's hand movement and at that point no one had made an animated version of that scene. So I threw this one together.
I have never been much of a girly girl and am supremely awkward around girls initially. I'm also not one for drama, so sometimes it'd hard for me to accept that girls and guys are the same species. The quote itself is from the Shoebox Project, and I use this icon whenever I'm having a "GIRLS ARE STUPID" moment.
