I ended up watching Touching Evil yesterday instead, and even though I'm not done yet (almost-- at episode ten now), I can't say I'm a fan. I can't find anything wrong with it either. I can't get into it. It's oddly paced but my little synopsis nugget is this: Take Mulder and Scully's relationship without the "I believe"/"I don't" and throw them into a Law & Order. I do enjoy Pruitt Taylor Vince, though. He always plays whacked out people, but he's always a joy.

I lost track of the day entertaining my nephew, who's also on vacation. So after he went to sleep I caught up with TV. Except for tonight's Chuck and last week's Supernatural.

The Big Bang Theory Awww, I could say so much about the comic book store, really. But it also made me realize how much I like being that girl when I go to buy comics. I mean, when they're not being sexist and refusing to let me apply to work there.

I actually laughed out loud a few times, too. For me, this show is like The Office. You just shake your head and maybe chuckle during most of the episodes. So when it actually cracks me up, that's something.

How I Met Your Mother I like the way they got rid of Lily. I actually didn't realize she was gone until the second commercial break. :O I remember being told that The 40 Year Old Virgin was "guy funny".

My Boys YAYYYY, I'm so glad it's back!!! Never have I ever been so excited to hear bluesy-jazz than when this show starts each week.

PJ and Bobby are adorable, but here's where I show my anti-social side: why is it a big deal not knowing who she's dating? I can understand the guys-- they always pick up on subtle things like hairstyles and scents. And if Bobby kept ignoring their boys nights, they'd know something was up. But why is Stephanie all in a twist? Other than living vicariously through PJ, she gets nothing out of the knowledge that PJ is dating anyone, much less Bobby. I totally understand PJ's motive for not telling her. Unless it's a huge deal, why announce every little development in your life?

Chuck Chuck seems like a cop-out, but I did enjoy Ellie's reaction to her dad. And it was a pretty good episode. I don't think I paused once. I also saw it ages ago, so I remember exactly squat of whatever else happened.

Oh wait, there was another episode with laughing gas? And that was vaguely a good episode, too as I recall.

Lost I totally love Lost, but it's time I start re-watching from the beginning because I think early episodes hold the key to a lot of this season. Although when Ben was going to kill Penny in the most recent episode, I was probably the only one going, "OMFG PLEASE DO." And I'm confused-- Smokey can shape-shift? Or was that a tacile-vision or something. Because if Smokey can shape-shift....

The Office OMG, I LOVE CHARLES. HE KEEPS SMACKING JIM AROUND, AND THEN THERE'S ANDY AND DWIGHT TEAMING UP (CAN THEY GO TORMENT JIM NEXT, AFTER THEY FINISH BICKERING OVER THE REP CHICK?) AND THIS HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL, ZOMG.

Also lol Ryan's hair. Nice explanation, man.

I liked The Unusuals. I don't really have anything substantial to say. And I stopped watching Castle because it wasn't interesting me. You've gotta have something other than an actor to interest me, and then my mom stopped watching so I had no reason to sit around when there was other taped shows to be seen.

OH. AND PARTY DOWN. :DDDD I know someone on here was talking about it recently, but I barely remember what day it is, so forgive me when I say I can't remember who. But if you like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, you'll probably like Party Down. It starts horrible, but by episode three I was into it, and episode four was amazing. The humor is a bit like The Office, but with the language of Sunny. And the characters all reek of desperation that you can laugh at, just like both those shows. So that's a big recommendation.

Krod Mandoon, however... is a bit too Comedy Central for me. I didn't even recognize Sean Maguire (from Off Centre and The Class), I was just watching because a silly version of a fantasy show seemed like an interesting show. But everyone on the show plays it like it's on Mad TV, with that "wink wink, we're not taking this seriously either," kind of silly acting that I can never really get into (I think that's a good analysis of why I don't think Will Ferrell is funny, too). But I'll probably watch the next two episodes for the hell of it, and then hope it finds an audience (doesn't every show on Comedy Central go on forever, anyway? Besides vehicles for stand-up comedians?)

Does anyone watch Greek or In Treatment? Not that I need another show to watch, but I keep hearing about them and was wondering what was the attraction. But if they're that good...

I'm definitely forgetting something else I wanted to mention. But I guess it'll have to wait.

Is the entire NYPD stupid in Castle!verse?

Ahahaha, apparently! Helping them out is one thing, but when he's solving all the cases, it's a bit ridiculous. No writer is that great with his research that he's better than THE ENTIRE FORCE.

Renner was on Angel? For some reason I always thought he was British.

HAHA Oh, The Office. Jim is so awkward to watch, now. D: I do like Charles, though, and the new Dwight/Andy team is amazing. :D

I can't comment on the rest because I haven't watched Lost yet, so I'm avoiding anyone's posts on that. :D

I had missed the first part of the episode, but then I thought I missed another when Andy and Dwight were all buddy-buddy. But then they explained it and I was so excited. It's nice to see Jim get put in place, finally.

I watch Greek and it is seriously awesome. It's a premise that could easily be very off-putting to some people ("geeky younger brother of popular sorority girl decides to pledge a fraternity to make friends") but the way it's executed...it's brilliant. The characters are all so multi-dimensional and they make you fall in love with them. No one is stereotyped at all. You know my thing with fundies and how I can't stand them and have to make them go away? Yeah, the main character has a fundie for a roommate and he's so un-stereotypical and multi-layered that I actually, honestly, adore him and want him to keep being a fundie and raise his kid fundie because if you have to be a fundie, he's the one kid who's got it right. And, randomly, it had the first male/male kiss on ABC family, which makes me happy (between Paul James and the guy who played Deputy Leo on Veronica Mars if you remember him). And there's an entire episode where Apatow comedies are used to demonstrate why Calvin's (Paul James's character) current boyfriend is so wrong for him and why his ex is who he should be with because his current boyfriend doesn't "get" them. So that's a plus.

I just...seriously, I could go on and on about how much I love this show, but yeah. It is love.

Oh, wow. That's the series you mentioned before? Haha, maybe I'll watch next semester during my bus rides, then. It doesn't seem like the kind of thing I'd enjoy but I'm all for forward-thinking series on family-friendly channels.

Mhm. I didn't think I'd like it, to be honest. I mean...it sounds so...stupid when you hear the premise. But then it just...sucks you in and everyone is so multi-layered that I just want to cuddle it and give it an award for being such well-written, entertaining, progressive television. And the scene where Calvin comes out to his best friend, Rusty (he'd been out in high school, but wanted people to get to know him at college first before he told them, so that he'd be Calvin, not That Gay Kid), in the third or fourth episode is probably my second-favorite coming out scene ever. *sigh* I heart this show. I do. Can you tell? *shuts up*

Yep Greek is a great show! Cappie (president of the "black sheep" fraternity Kappa Tau) rocks!

"If there's anyone who understands how a girl can change they way you feel about a friend, it's your big brother. Mostly because of your big sister. Good God, this campus is incestuous

*a line he said from this past week's episode

:D

I guess they were giving Alyson some time off, though there's still like four episodes left in the season. Do you think when they said "four weeks" they were serious, and she won't be back?

They filmed the last few episodes back to back almost (or at least the scenes involving the girls), so they could accommodate their maternity leaves. Lily won't be back until either the finale or next season. I want to see what they do when Cobie's leave comes up. Because mysteriously, Robin wasn't in that scene either.

I'm glad someone else loves Charles! He won me over in the soccer episode. Also in taking Jim down haha. And I'm so glad you love Party Down! I did post about it, not sure if it was me but it's definitely funny/entertaining.

I watch Greek. It's not super good but it's fun and there's a gay character so I like it.

Does the fandom not like him or something? I thought he was AMAZING.

It was your post! :D I knew I wasn't insane. I remember you mentioning it was a Veronica Mars reunion catering show, so I thought it was more detective-y in like a "who dunnit" style.

LOL, it seems that gay characters are the main draw to most fandoms. And if there isn't one, the shippers shall make 'em ;)

I just love gay characters, I can't help it. And sometimes it seems like they just can't bring themselves to admit they do have them.

No it was just that it has LOTS of VM people. But that would have been a fun show too!

From what I've seen :( Almost everyone's reactions have been bad. I am biased though because I love Idris Elba from The Wire.
