I ended up watching Touching Evil yesterday instead, and even though I'm not done yet (almost-- at episode ten now), I can't say I'm a fan. I can't find anything wrong with it either. I can't get into it. It's oddly paced but my little synopsis nugget is this: Take Mulder and Scully's relationship without the "I believe"/"I don't" and throw them into a Law & Order. I do enjoy Pruitt Taylor Vince, though. He always plays whacked out people, but he's always a joy.
I lost track of the day entertaining my nephew, who's also on vacation. So after he went to sleep I caught up with TV. Except for tonight's Chuck and last week's Supernatural.
The Big Bang Theory Awww, I could say so much about the comic book store, really. But it also made me realize how much I like being that girl when I go to buy comics. I mean, when they're not being sexist and refusing to let me apply to work there.
I actually laughed out loud a few times, too. For me, this show is like The Office. You just shake your head and maybe chuckle during most of the episodes. So when it actually cracks me up, that's something.
How I Met Your Mother I like the way they got rid of Lily. I actually didn't realize she was gone until the second commercial break. :O I remember being told that The 40 Year Old Virgin was "guy funny".
My Boys YAYYYY, I'm so glad it's back!!! Never have I ever been so excited to hear bluesy-jazz than when this show starts each week.
PJ and Bobby are adorable, but here's where I show my anti-social side: why is it a big deal not knowing who she's dating? I can understand the guys-- they always pick up on subtle things like hairstyles and scents. And if Bobby kept ignoring their boys nights, they'd know something was up. But why is Stephanie all in a twist? Other than living vicariously through PJ, she gets nothing out of the knowledge that PJ is dating anyone, much less Bobby. I totally understand PJ's motive for not telling her. Unless it's a huge deal, why announce every little development in your life?
Chuck Chuck seems like a cop-out, but I did enjoy Ellie's reaction to her dad. And it was a pretty good episode. I don't think I paused once. I also saw it ages ago, so I remember exactly squat of whatever else happened.
Oh wait, there was another episode with laughing gas? And that was vaguely a good episode, too as I recall.
Lost I totally love Lost, but it's time I start re-watching from the beginning because I think early episodes hold the key to a lot of this season. Although when Ben was going to kill Penny in the most recent episode, I was probably the only one going, "OMFG PLEASE DO." And I'm confused-- Smokey can shape-shift? Or was that a tacile-vision or something. Because if Smokey can shape-shift....
The Office OMG, I LOVE CHARLES. HE KEEPS SMACKING JIM AROUND, AND THEN THERE'S ANDY AND DWIGHT TEAMING UP (CAN THEY GO TORMENT JIM NEXT, AFTER THEY FINISH BICKERING OVER THE REP CHICK?) AND THIS HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL, ZOMG.
Also lol Ryan's hair. Nice explanation, man.
I liked The Unusuals. I don't really have anything substantial to say. And I stopped watching Castle because it wasn't interesting me. You've gotta have something other than an actor to interest me, and then my mom stopped watching so I had no reason to sit around when there was other taped shows to be seen.
OH. AND PARTY DOWN. :DDDD I know someone on here was talking about it recently, but I barely remember what day it is, so forgive me when I say I can't remember who. But if you like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, you'll probably like Party Down. It starts horrible, but by episode three I was into it, and episode four was amazing. The humor is a bit like The Office, but with the language of Sunny. And the characters all reek of desperation that you can laugh at, just like both those shows. So that's a big recommendation.
Krod Mandoon, however... is a bit too Comedy Central for me. I didn't even recognize Sean Maguire (from Off Centre and The Class), I was just watching because a silly version of a fantasy show seemed like an interesting show. But everyone on the show plays it like it's on Mad TV, with that "wink wink, we're not taking this seriously either," kind of silly acting that I can never really get into (I think that's a good analysis of why I don't think Will Ferrell is funny, too). But I'll probably watch the next two episodes for the hell of it, and then hope it finds an audience (doesn't every show on Comedy Central go on forever, anyway? Besides vehicles for stand-up comedians?)
Does anyone watch Greek or In Treatment? Not that I need another show to watch, but I keep hearing about them and was wondering what was the attraction. But if they're that good...
I'm definitely forgetting something else I wanted to mention. But I guess it'll have to wait.

Date: 2009-04-14 10:09 pm (UTC)Ahahaha, apparently! Helping them out is one thing, but when he's solving all the cases, it's a bit ridiculous. No writer is that great with his research that he's better than THE ENTIRE FORCE.
Renner was on Angel? For some reason I always thought he was British.

Date: 2009-04-23 01:26 am (UTC)It was your post! :D I knew I wasn't insane. I remember you mentioning it was a Veronica Mars reunion catering show, so I thought it was more detective-y in like a "who dunnit" style.
LOL, it seems that gay characters are the main draw to most fandoms. And if there isn't one, the shippers shall make 'em ;)

Date: 2009-04-23 01:34 am (UTC)No it was just that it has LOTS of VM people. But that would have been a fun show too!
From what I've seen :( Almost everyone's reactions have been bad. I am biased though because I love Idris Elba from The Wire.
