The hardest part of writing?

I had an interesting discussion the other day and it got me to thinking-- what do you feel is the hardest part about writing? Or the part that you just can't seem to get right?

I said Describing/Other because usually my story ideas start off with a scene that I can see in my head, or a specific character (that goes more for original fics than fanfiction, obv, since we all know what fandom characters are like already). But then I have trouble fleshing it out. It'll turn into like a one page little thing or something.

Ugh, I hate when things start with a middle scene because it's hard to figure out how to get there. When the scene is closer to the end, it's easier, I think.

Describing various elements...I'm always stumped. I'm a visual person and so I want it to be just as visual when I write. I fail big time sometimes by either making it too wordy or too short. >_

Yeah, I'm a really descriptive person myself so it's hard to consolidate details for me too.

I guess this would go under "Other" but I'm going to say writing filling. Usually I start a fic because there's a scenes/ I want to write, but I have to GET to that scene usually, which can sometimes be painful.

To me the hardest part of writing is discussing the various elements. Mostly I like to think ideas for a plot, characters and so on, but when I have to write a detailed story, I just want to get to the good stuff :p
