I am finally up to date with all my podcasts after a huge 3-day marathon. I gave up on Mugglecast and Pottercast because those two are insanely updated and I'm in a bitter state right now. I can't be listening to all this talk about Terminus all the time. But Diggnation, TAI TV, WebbAlert... all caught up! WOOOOO

So, uh, bandom. I don't know how many of you are into it, but it reminds me of the pop slash days so I feel nostalgic and old reading all these things. I'm not obsessive about it, but I've dabbled. I'm mostly amused at how there's at least one member of each band that I think is insanely pretty or hysterical. The exception is Cobra Starship, which is the only band (besides MCR and TAI..., but I've listened to MCR since the beginning so I've never considered them a part of all this and I don't have any real CDs from TAI... yet) to whose albums I actually listen.

Why is this relevant? Why, my dream of course! )

Oh, and tourfilter.com is pretty awesome.

lol, I was going to ask what fandom of mine do you guys not know about, but that's a stupid question. So go to my profile and pick something off there you don't know about. I want to do a fandom spam type thing on something no one really knows about. All the bigger fandoms are represented here, and that sort of gave me the idea. So... vamoose.

P.S. Does anyone have that new Alicia Keys song? The one where she just says "no one" fifty million times? I kinda like it...

I'm over here trying to summarize the last two days in a feasible amount of space and it is just not happening. First off, I don't even remember Friday morning other than I was bored out of my skull not knowing what to do that wouldn't cut into my nighttime and then so much happened Friday and Saturday (or you know, today) that this is my summation on Friday:

• "Chuck" and "The Big Bang Theory" sort of solidifies what my friend mentioned to me over the summer about my geekdom. I seriously thought most people knew random things like the differences of grammar and the types of R2 droids.
• "Journeyman" the series kind of solves its dilemma in the pilot, so I don't know why anyone needs to watch beyond that.
• "Life" has no unique point to it, the guy is so zen and he's a detective. So he was in jail. OOh. But he's out AND cleared now, so... what?
• Thomas Ian Nicholas is a pretty good performer! I need to get out more.
• Clive Owen is awesome and Paul Giamatti is weird, but whoever wrote Shoot 'Em Up clearly had no plot in mind. I can't remember the dude's name (and too lazy to look it up on IMDB) but he wrote 100 Girls and dude, that was actually decent considering the type of move it was. So's Shoot 'Em Up, but you learn f- all about the characters and I was kind of looking for a lull in the story to explain some things. Cool movie, cheesy lines but too much like Crank: the lite version.
• The package of the ATHF movie says "Includes 80-Minute Deleted Movie." And it actually does, on Disc 2, LMAO.

And today:
• I'm running on three hours of sleep today!
• Sometimes rocks have urges, but the results are AWESOME.
WAY TO GO, GOVERNMENT.
• Coal mines are creepy but cool. Not someplace I'd rather be daily and those people who do go in there have my respect. Not for nothing, but the PD and FD risk their lives for others, you know?
• Passing by Sparta (lol imagine when 300 came out there?), Allentown (...) Scranton (Oh, Dwight can you hear me?), Lodi (while "Carry on My Wayward Son" plays and a white Chevy Impala passes you?!), and just Pennsylvania in general.
• Stopping in a town that single-handledly reminded me of Cars (a gas station with a tow truck and a VW Wagon), Skinwalkers and House of Wax and on a highway that reminded me of Wrong Turn IS CREEPY.
• My brain's awesomeness for randomly grabbing some chapters of [personal profile] shoebox_project to read on the way to and from the field trip (IT WAS A GEOLOGY AKA ROCK STUDY FIELD TRIP)
• I have more memes and picspams in progress than graphics or fics. Huh?
• I keep meaning to throw in some polls now and then, but I post so much and that somehow deters me from doing the polls. I dunno.
• My CafePress order shipped! By Weds. I'll have a decked-out with mini button schoolbag.

I AM SLEEPY. G'day, er, night.

OMG. I got excited about that and then angry, because I don't think anyone I know will admit to still liking them, except for like... those of you on here. I want to go! :(

I need calligrapy fonts! Something like handwritten scripts, but not as organic looking as the Pea fonts. I hate when I have an idea for a new layout and I don't have the exact font or know how to do the texture or look I want! Rowr. Any ideas? Oh hell, just tell me your favorite fonts like that. Maybe I can revise my original idea enough to compromise.

I just realized Jake Hoffman is in I Heart Huckabees for a second. I love him. If Click wasn't so depressing, I'd buy that movie for him alone. Plus Isla Fischer is the second Huckabees girl, but when I saw it the first time I didn't know who she was. Anyhows, the movie was better this time. It was funnier even if I still don't see what it was supposed to be "about" or if it had anything to it at all.

I don't know... should I watch the MTV Movie Awards tonight or Sopranos and Entourage? All are inevitably going to repeat over and over. I just don't know what to watch first. OK, The Departed was represented which is all I really cared about. The rest of the nominees are puerile. So I'm switching over to HBO at 9pm. I'll get my Silverman fix later.

I just added maybe ten artists to my MySpace friends. And I was looking through Coconut Record's pictures and apparently Zooey Deschanel sings on some track. I'm assuming it's "This Old Machine," because the lyrics to "Mama" are in front of that Jen girl (from Seawolf?) in another one of the photos. This is one of those times that a physical CD with linear notes is useful. I'm so clueless when it comes to indie stars. It's never been my favorite genre (even back when it was called emo) to keep track of. I do love Zooey though. Where's HER CD?

Riley Smith is playing a show at the end of June too, WHAT THE CRAP. I do not have this money, nor the friends for all these shows OK! Awesome musicians, please stop playing so close together when I'm trying to start being more concert-going-like. I was always under the impression tickets were generally $50 and everything I'm finding is in the $10-$30 range. Why was I not notified of this earlier and furthermore who put that ridiculous amount in my head? And please find me more friends who are of the concert-going ilk in real life.

Yesterday was cool. Fun day at the BBQ where I realized I'm not weird and I have the same musical tastes as my cousins. One nearly fell over when I told her I knew of (and love) Avenged Sevenfold. And the CCL show where my dad finally met Glo (first person I met from online, back in 2005) and Glo committed identity theft (she said her name was Lia and I was Glo during an audience participation part). Also, between the Scottish girls who came to America solely to shop cheaply and then go back home and the various bits about Scotland Glo and I could not stop referencing Ewan McGregor. I swear, the world revolves differently (around Wang- our code name for Ewan) when we're together.

New movies to watch (Celebrity and Sexual Life.) Once I'm done with these, I can get my Schwartzman fix. *glee* There's not enough time left in Sunday! I need to get these out before the postman comes by Monday at 3.

Gah. I am so over all these "Save The Show" crap. It didn't work for Firefly, Joan Of Arcadia, Conviction, Sex, Lies & Secrets, Day Break... countless others. What got renewed? Family Guy and Futurama. As much as I love them, I'm not inclined to rejoice over that matter. So, bleh.

OMG, The Departed soundtrack and Paolo Nutini's album are amazing. I just got them along with five other CDs from my dad's job. :-) I need The Departed score album now. Yes, officially obsessed am I. Although "Sweet Dreams" is ironic, considering the scene it plays in The Departed (He just wanted to give Marky a bagel! :( ).

Question: Does anyone actually use Google? I find it funny that "google" is used as a verb, when I distinctly remember Lycos and Yahoo's "search" features way before Google popped up. Heck, in 1998, everyone thought America Online was the internet.

Grindhouse! )

I'm sure there were other things to say..... but this is uber-long, so that's all for now.

P.S. Has anyone ever tried Malta? Or even know what it is? Because I am CRAVING one now. I've been drinking it since I was around six, and the taste is really bitter but I love it. I might send someone out for a six-pack later. Basically it tastes like malt soda. But some kinds have alcohol in it. Most do, which is why I am so appalled that in Puerto Rico? The kids drink this like water. I did too even though I was in America, and the alcohol is usually .01%, but still. When I was in Puerto Rico when I was nine, no one offered me anything but Malta. But, heck wikipedia, I've never had it with condensed milk. Must try that later. *adds to shopping list*

So I saw a video today that showed me pretty much tells me all I needed to know about the state of music today. Yeah, I won't even bother turning on the radio today. I haven't listened to the radio in, oh many two months. I was hoping I was missing out on some really good stuff but apparently it's all still FOB, PATD (seriously, is that ! needed in the acronym? I say nay!) payola and urban crap. Fare thee well Z100, you were good in the 90s. Jack FM and that channel that gets re-invented every five seconds while I mourn when it used to play Loveline eternally aren't even worth it anymore.

Anyway, I realized today when I passed the Armory that I never posted all the pretty pictures of my school and whatever was filming at the Armory (which wasn't Bourne Identity anyway, but I Am Legend). Plus, a few fangirl things I noticed about my most hated hallway in school and my favorite actor. But that's all tomorrow :-p (How's that for tease?)

Dancing with the Stars is premiering now and there's an episode of How I Met Your Mother too. Dilemma much? I'll just watch HIMYM later (it's the finale, right?), because I need to watch Mills make a fool of herself and wonder if Joey has left the ham behind or if Briana still has to deal with a silly daddy. Hopefully one of the guys will come to support the Phat One, but not Ju, because just, no. Dude, was Bobbie at the Oscars? I missed her this year. :-( I still say she and JC were the best couple ever.

LOOK! MEMES.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

What am I thankful for? (There's no real order, just as they come)

• That it seems no matter how crappy my life may seem I can pretty much count on tradition.
• Z100 and Adam Sandler for instantaneous mother-daughter bonding last night.
• Silly children that make me laugh and still give me hugs pretty much daily.
• Bijou. And the fact that dogs don't have planned parenthood so Bijou could exist.
• Friends. (No, not the TV show. YOU! ^_^ And... real life friends like GloriAnn and Eli who most likely will never see this but HI ANYWAYSS!)
• My amazing made-from-scratch scones that pwnd everyone today XD (and my stuffing too, regardless of how it was a tad sour :( !)
• ZOMG PSYCH's HIATUS IS ALMOST OVER.
The word "Soon" in flaming letters. Yeah, no.
• Pineapples and baby!David Krumholtz. (Don't ask.)
• Wintertime.
• My crazy mind.
• Life. And Patience. ;-)
• Sleep. Night. Dreams.
• Family. Uh-duh.

An ImagiNation Thanksgiving )

Want to play? Comment and I'll choose a letter for you. You then find 5 songs that start with that letter and post them in your journal.

[livejournal.com profile] lucius_admirer chose the letter L for me.

Loser by Beck // It just explains ME. It's my theme song for when I disappoint people. Which is lots.
Leaky Little Boat by Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers // Aww thanks to the Psych website for making me find this group. Much love is them.
Like A Stone by Audioslave // First song I ever liked by Audioslave. Great band.
Look Around by Anthony Rapp // This was the last mp3 I had to download to complete Tony's CD. It's so airy a song really...
Long Way Round by Stereophonics // Oh come on! Ewan McGregor + Kelly Jones is all sorts of awesomeness.

That was tough because I just emptied out the 9GB of music I had on my computer so this was all just me wracking my brain to remember songs with the letter L.
