My fanmix process, let me show you it
May. 1st, 2008 09:17 pmlulz. I was on my way to posting this, and I happened to notice the calendar on my journal. It's pretty obvious which week was my spring break.
Anyway, point of the post:
Does anyone know of a community that helps you find songs for fanmixes? I know that sounds weird, but whenever I do a mix I always look for the songs that just feel like they're about the subject and then scour my iPod/CD/MP3 collection for other songs that could possibility fit the subject as well. My mixes always end up very structured and (I think, anyway) very story-like.
And right now I really need a song about a one night stand or a casual affair ("Get Mine, Get Yours" by Christina Aguilera was an early choice, but I think it's too sexual for the pairing, as is "No Strings" by Lola). And possibly some song about fighting those first romantic feelings could fit in as well. The closest things I can come up with are "Not In Love" by Enrique Iglesias and "Only Fooling Myself" by Kate Voegele. I'm mainly trying to keep the mix in the pop/rock/country vain.
So I just did a 30 minute search on comms, and found no comm for things like this. And I'm thisclose to starting one, except I don't know if there's a desire for one of those comms.
Plus, I'm about to leave for the movies soon and don't have time to brainstorm comm names and all that stuff.
