CLOVERFIELD!!!

If you followed any of the viral stuff, maybe it's a different experience. But from the small crash course I took (and from my experience with all the Lost Underground stuff that never helps with anything) the viral marketing has little to do with the movie. Unless you want back-story, because that you do not get from the movie. Look elsewhere for resolutions as well. I can't say that I would recommend it to everyone and it's not something you can really watch again-- other than to sit and try to look at everything in each frame. And it was short. Being that it's all from the same video tape, it couldn't be much longer than an actual tape. The one time I wish they had stretched the truth. :/

Minor bits:

-During the party I heard one violin riff or whatnot from "West Coast" and I got a bit giddy. I stayed after the credits just to see the music credit on that. :P (Also "19-2000" by Gorillaz, W00T)

-Mike Vogel's hair is usually short when he's in public, and I'm a big fan of the longer 'do he has in most of his movies. On Attack of the Show on Wednesday it was cut again. Why, Mike, why?

-"Good luck tonight, Travis," PWNED. Travis was really cute, by the way. I wonder what happened to him :(

-Of all stores to stop in front of, they pick Sephora!?

-I would've unhitched the poor horse attached to the carriage. :(

Movie spree, part 1

Juno was better than I expected. Usually when I finally watch all the movies you guys flail about like crazy, I'm less than impressed. And I was in a definite bad mood when I was watching it, so I'm doubly surprised. But I even liked Jennifer Gardner, who I could really care less for. Jason Bateman, who I actually think is pretty decent (as far as his public persona goes) always seems to play the same character. Why is that? And it had "All the Young Dudes" in it, which made me want to see it when I heard it in the trailer during The Darjeeling Limited, but I didn't actually expect them to put in the movie. Michael Cera was pretty adorable and omg, that lady from Psych's "Forget Me Not" episode (who was also in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) was in it. I almost fell off my chair at how excited I was to see her.

My dad was watching Sunshine while I was watching Juno and I didn't know he had it, so I have to see that maybe tomorrow. This is supposed to be the year of Chris Evans, anyway, right? So I rented The Nanny Diaries too. :D My dad and I had a conversation about Cloverfield and he said, "At least you don't know anyone in Cloverfield, so it should be more realistic." And I went, "Pssht. I know [of] four of the five main actors and two other people in the random party scene. It's just that... no one else watched their shows. The Class got a People's Choice Award and still got canceled!"

Cloverfield actually was magnificent. Besides the fact that it got me out of the house. So it kinda bloomed into it's own entry *sheepish* All the spoilers are blocked off in "highlight to read format". I guess the movie was that important to me, because usually I just cut spoilers with no warnings other than the cut, lol.

Bombay Talkie, which randomly came in the mail the same day wasn't that great. I actually didn't finish it but I was tired of all these affairs going on in it. When the main female character should be walking around with "WHORE" written on her head, it's hard to care for her.

National Treasure was... okay. Riley Poole is hysterical, but I guess I like my action/adventures with a little fantasy thrown in. Saying that Ben Franklin and his buddies cooked up huge secrets and caverns like they were Egyptians was a bit much. I think all that was missing (to make me enjoy it anyway) was something fantastical and that had no place in the movie really. But Justin Bartha came through with the best character as usual. The scene when he just hugs the statue, lololol. Now I just need to see the sequel.

Waitress. Another movie full of affairs! WTF. But I was shallow and watched the whole thing for Fillion and Sisto (and Andy Griffith, awwwww). And it was good. I didn't like the ending at first, but Pomatter's wife was nice so I guess I would've been annoyed more at the other possibility.

Spun was better unrated. I've never seen a movie before where they actually bleeped out stuff like the rated version was. And uh, yeah... Happy!Lia.

Now, when everyone goes to sleep I can watch the rest of October Road and load up my iPod with more movies. (Ugh, I really want to watch Walk Hard!!!!!!! *grumbles at theatres and the net in general*)
