bohemia: (Misc - Movies)
I've been in the mood to watch movies that I haven't seen a million times, but also things that I don't have to pay attention to.

What I meant to do: make fun of male CW stars and their bad movies.

What I realized: "I've seen all of Welling's movies. I refuse to see Sorority Boys or Christmas Cottage. All the rest of Jared and Jensen's I've seen somehow. And Chad ...all that's left is A Cinderella Story."

What actually occurred: JULIE GONZALO & CMM MOVIE MARATHON!

Eh, it was worth it. I got my laughs in.

I have nothing to say on Melrose, Flash Forward, Modern Family or Sunny.

I'll get to SGU after I finish re-watching the pilot... when I'm done with this movie I'm in the middle of now.

This week/weekend is not what I expected it to be, but it is a good thing. I'll talk about it when it's over but right now, a few things:

I'm almost done with my fanmixes, and I'll post them sporadically since there's six of them. But I really want to replace this one song, but I can't think of another song that fits as well. I think it's because I want more of a male perspective but a bit less acoustic/folky, but still in that "third act of the romantic movie" kind of feeling. Any ideas?

And what are your favorite fonts for text icons? I can't remember if I asked this recently, I've been meaning to.

TV! I tried watching Stargate Universe but I missed a few minutes in the second half-hour and then zoned out somewhere at the hour mark, so I have to re-watch it. But it didn't feel like Stargate to me so I might not get around to watching it again until after Psych ends.

Nobody cares about this, but I have to tell someone. Bytejacker got picked up by Revision3! I'm so happy for Anthony and Jon. I just watched the new episode and was very "colon capital D" when it started with the sponsors. I miss the old beginning, but that's okay. I just hope they don't screw them over like they did with Epic Fu and Wine Library TV (not that I watch/ed those, but I'M ONTO YOU KEVIN ROSE AND CO.). Right, onto TV people here know about.

Ah, Emmys. Why do I bother anymore.

I saw the second episode of Bored to Death, but I'll be good and not talk about it until next week. It is my favorite so far though. I also saw the pilot to The Beautiful Life, but I want to rip my skin off at the sight of the fashion world so that's not going on my list.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. I have two polls for you to fill out. :)
TV poll
Messengers poll

The first just to stroke my curiosity (and apparently embarrass myself with the number of shows I watch), the second because I have too many messengers that I'm not using at all. Even though I use Adium, and get signed in all at once I'd rather not have seven accounts and only be actually using two.

And for those of you concerned for my brain cells/IQ points, not all those shows air during regular fall season. Like for instance, after this week, there's only four shows left on my schedule until June.

I should say up front and outside of a cut that I'm really sad that some people don't give Supernatural the time of day just based on the network it's on. If it wasn't for LJ I wouldn't have given the series a second thought myself for those reasons and as much as I go back and forth with it over the last two seasons, I'm enjoying watching the show play out. It may not be as serialized and full of little call-backs like Lost or How I Met Your Mother, but it's a good show. /random ad

I'm giving Parks & Recreation one more week. I'm really only watching for Aziz, but it's not pulling me in.

Why isn't it July yet? I wanna start my semi-annual Psych marathon already. :/

I ended up watching Touching Evil yesterday instead, and even though I'm not done yet (almost-- at episode ten now), I can't say I'm a fan. I can't find anything wrong with it either. I can't get into it. It's oddly paced but my little synopsis nugget is this: Take Mulder and Scully's relationship without the "I believe"/"I don't" and throw them into a Law & Order. I do enjoy Pruitt Taylor Vince, though. He always plays whacked out people, but he's always a joy.

I lost track of the day entertaining my nephew, who's also on vacation. So after he went to sleep I caught up with TV. Except for tonight's Chuck and last week's Supernatural.

I liked The Unusuals. I don't really have anything substantial to say. And I stopped watching Castle because it wasn't interesting me. You've gotta have something other than an actor to interest me, and then my mom stopped watching so I had no reason to sit around when there was other taped shows to be seen.

OH. AND PARTY DOWN. :DDDD I know someone on here was talking about it recently, but I barely remember what day it is, so forgive me when I say I can't remember who. But if you like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, you'll probably like Party Down. It starts horrible, but by episode three I was into it, and episode four was amazing. The humor is a bit like The Office, but with the language of Sunny. And the characters all reek of desperation that you can laugh at, just like both those shows. So that's a big recommendation.

Krod Mandoon, however... is a bit too Comedy Central for me. I didn't even recognize Sean Maguire (from Off Centre and The Class), I was just watching because a silly version of a fantasy show seemed like an interesting show. But everyone on the show plays it like it's on Mad TV, with that "wink wink, we're not taking this seriously either," kind of silly acting that I can never really get into (I think that's a good analysis of why I don't think Will Ferrell is funny, too). But I'll probably watch the next two episodes for the hell of it, and then hope it finds an audience (doesn't every show on Comedy Central go on forever, anyway? Besides vehicles for stand-up comedians?)

Does anyone watch Greek or In Treatment? Not that I need another show to watch, but I keep hearing about them and was wondering what was the attraction. But if they're that good...

I'm definitely forgetting something else I wanted to mention. But I guess it'll have to wait.

I had such a great day yesterday. Friday the 13ths are usually lucky for me anyway, but I was in a really happy, contented mood instead of my usual "meh". I left my iPod on accidentally the night before and it somehow lasted the whole day on a sliver of a red line battery. And I found $60 in assorted forgotten birthday/holiday cards from two years ago and went on a book-shopping spree where I found most of what I was looking for. And Psych was good and I had great food (flatbreads from Dunkin' Donuts, woot!).

I saw Push and I loved it. Which is weird, because all my criticisms are the same I had of The Covenant (not enough explanation of the world), but it works somehow. I'm clearly a sucker for "people with powers" movies and also anything with Chris Evans (and Djimon Hounsou). I need to think of a new layout.

Also, since everyone's mentioning it. I'm not a big romance person, but Happy Valentine's for those of you celebrating.

I can't wait for February 27th. I don't care that I'm going alone and have to travel more than an hour to the theatre but I am seeing that 3D Jonas Brothers movie. I love that I found out about the movie from Neil Gaiman's Twitter of all places. And I'm highly amused that seeing the Jonases > seeing Fanboys (I didn't want to travel to see Fanboys so figured I'd just watch it on DVD, but already mapped out my plans to see 3D!Jonas). BUT IT'S IN 3D! Joe Jonas in 3D. Yes. And I just remembered they're on SNL tonight. YUSSS.

Since I'm rambling on music, The Lonely Island CD is amazing. First of all, they have the Natalie Portman rap on there that I adored when it came out, and then there's "Sax Man" with JACK BLACK, AHAHA. \o/ I think Dream Girl with Norah Jones is the best track, though. Or "I'm On A Boat," simply because it's a million times better than every legitimate egotistic rap song ever.

Also, Tweetdeck FTW. I was in need of an actual application for Twitter since Twitterfox wasn't cutting it with keeping track of everyone. And yes, I know. But when one person posts every five days and another is posting replies every five seconds, I miss out. And I was going to go with Twhirl, DestroyTwitter or Spaz as I was recommended, but then Tweetdeck just updated when I went to try it on Gabe the laptop and now I can do everything I was hoping for! YUSSSSSSSSSS. I was thisclose to diving into the API myself. I must re-download it on Ryland (who might finally get updated to Leopard this weekend, if I get the time). Yayyyy.

Right, so apparently Brothers & Sisters isn't coming on today because of the AMAs and I don't feel like waiting until 11pm to post about Entourage, mostly because I want to be in bed and catching up on podcasts by 10pm.

I was so completely bored today that I watched all of the Life & Times of Tim (on HBO On Demand, which we get now? IDK) and I think the TRS crew gave up on it too quickly. The pilot was odd but the rest of it seems genius. I like the voice acting-- it's very natural sounding. I saw that Ricky Gervais comedy special that also aired a few weeks ago and now I really want to watch The Office UK again. I saw Sweeney Todd yesterday too, and I completely prefer the concert that you can see on YouTube. And not because of NPH, but the fake blood in the movie looked so cherry-like that I just wanted to lick it. And I'm guessing that's not what they were going for. I also was highly amused at the way different necks gushed with blood and others just trickled. What was that about?

I hope I have better dreams tonight. Last night's weirdo dream included a weird train ride to a odd neighborhood populated by condos separated by large woods, a political correspondent team comprised of Frank Langella and someone named Erica Langella, a tour of the White House, cyanide and a very MacBeth-like plotline. I miss the days when my nightmares were less psychological.

Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist was amazing. Everything I have to say is echoed by the TRS crew, so in an effort to get more people to watch, I say go watch their review (also stay tuned for their thoughts on Heroes, which I agree with as well). In other Revision3 news, Alex Albrecht got engaged and omfg, Alex/Heather forever. Easily the only real couple that I admire in this world.

I do have to add that I'll be running up and down the Old Gym building stairs at my school going, "OMG KAT DENNINGS REALLY WAS HERE IN MAY," come Monday.

In other filming-near-Lia news there was a filming crew about ten blocks from my house over the summer and my mom is convinced that it was Life On Mars. So now I have to watch at least a few episodes to see if I spot anything super familiar.

Surprise, surprise! I can actually post an entry about randomness, not just TV. Life's been boring anyways.

I'm rather fascinated more and more each day how much the qualities I thought were my own are just passed down from the rest of my family. This whole week has been a hysterical blob of proof. Yes, we all become our mothers-- but since when did we become our sisters? It's more my mom and my aunt than me and my sister, but geeze.

Hey! I had a The Office dream last night. LMAO. Dwight had been replaced with a duck, but Jim couldn't tell the difference until he tried to make fun of him. And then Stanley realized it was his rubber duck, so he yelled at Michael, who fired Pam for allowing Dwight to be replaced without alerting him. And Karen and Andy were making out in an elevator. Ya, I only saw my second Office episode Thursday and a whole bunch of clips last night, so shush. I was barely into sleep when I had to wake up for class today, anyway.

Which, btw ≠ two more classes. Classes end the 17th, but DUHR, there's the final on the 19th. So it's actually three more hell trips to AMS, not two. This also reminded me that May 17th = CW upfronts day. My last art class (final exam or not, it's gotta be an important day) is the 17th. I'm going to have a hell of a day jetting going between MSG, class and the Irish Rogue. God, I miss Pace. I actually cried the other day because I miss Pace University that much. Lehman's just not the same.

Aaannddd I'm moving on before I well up again.

I'll leave you with the videos for my three favorite songs at the moment:Videos! )

My comics and new winter coats came in today! Between Jensen, comics and James Roday... today I am a happy camper. Plus, tomorrow or Sunday I'm most likely going to see Dutchman. :-D Hey, weekend, I love you!

Sarah! I love my emo heart! Thanks!

IMDB finally updated and so, I know now that the girl that looked so familiar in last week's Psych was in "The Usual Suspects" episode of Supernatural. Doy. I would spazz about the cross-fandomness but the moment has passed.

And basically 6x19 of Dawson's Creek is a huge gooey emotional!teenager mess (my faves were 8, 14 and 17) but it has Jensen and Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew in the same scene and that's more than I can ask for today!
