TV Post!

So I'm slowly getting back into TV. And then after that, maybe I'll get into movies again, or video games. I miss stories. (Getting back into) Reading is a slow process, but it's at a pace I'm accepting for now. Podcasts are another story.

I'm just going to ramble about some shows now, the things I'm watching and such. I have to catch up on Burn Notice this weekend and next up are Happy Endings and Man Up because it's faster to binge 30 minute shows!

I gave up on Suburgatory. I like it, but when I was collecting links to download on Friday I went, "It's not THAT important," and clicked out of the post. I'm having more fun with the other shows.

American Horror Story )

HIMYM and Chuck in general )

Leverage )

Misfits )

Hell on Wheels )

Grimm )

Bored to Death )

How to Make it in America )

I haven't watched the newest Hung yet, but that show keeps getting better, too. HBO, YOU'RE ON POINT. At least, with my shows. I hear Boardwalk Empire is getting even more bland than it used to be.

In other news, I know I tend to get into cycles where I'm like, "I WISH I KNEW A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT. I'M GONNA LEARN AN INSTRUMENT. INSTRUMENTS ARE EXPENSIVE. I HAVE A KEYBOARD. FUCK IT, MY FINGERS DON'T WORK THAT WAY. MUSIC IS HARD." But guys, OCARINAS. With my new phone I was able to download an Ocarina app. But it doesn't work properly (you can't play a D note, says one comment on the Marketplace... I just know I can't get a higher note than C) so I decided to price real ones. I won't buy a ceramic one because lololol I am a clumsy person who will break that shit eventually. And also, wouldn't it get nasty, being a wind instrument? I remember the recorder from freshman year of high school getting disgusting with my spit. I don't even know if I'm going to buy that particular brand--apparently there are lots of ocarina makers? Anyway, I figure plastic ones are decent enough. And it's geeky enough that I'd stick with it just for the geek factor, if not the musical accomplishment. WE SHALL SEE.
bohemia: (In Plain Sight - Disgusted Mary)
That could've been a great series finale for Chuck. Now they have a whole season to go.

HIMYM and BBT aren't funny anymore--I just watched two episodes of each and didn't laugh once.

One episode into the three Modern Familys I had dl'd and I was hysterical.

Game of Thrones isn't interesting.

The Killing is, but I don't care for any of the characters.

Breakout Kings is adorable but it's just Leverage all over again. Undecided.

In Plain Sight is on the rocks, but I really love Mary a lot.
bohemia: (HIMYM - SW)
Okay, so now it is time to talk about mah shows, or really, the shows that I vaguely have something to say about!

Being Human UK )

White Collar )

How I Met Your Mother )

Being Human US )

I went to catch up on The Cape and Off the Map and saw they were in danger of being canceled (haha WELL). As much as The Cape is totally on my list of things I need to see wrapped up, I'm not bothering with it at the moment. And Off the Map was on after Mr. Sunshine this week and I could follow along even though I was five episodes behind and that's not a good sign for me. I should feel like I missed things. Not like in Lost where you miss a minute of an episode and are like, "WHAT HAPPENED, WHY ARE FIVE PEOPLE DEAD, I WAS JUST GETTING A DRINK OF WATER," but something.

Anyway, I'm finishing up the last four episodes of Big Love now, so the next post might reference that if there's anything OMG that happens. I hope so, but I haven't heard anything big... from the four people I know that watch it, too.

ETA: Does anyone have a Mac and play any Nintendo 64 ROMS? I can't seem to get them to work on my laptop. T_T

Doot doot doooooo, catching up on TV I missed last/this week.

I got my dad hooked on Archer with last week's episode, he got the first season yesterday and he's all caught up today. MY FAMILY WINS AT MARATHONING.
bohemia: (BTD - Jonathan slacking)
I woke up Friday feeling sluggish and by yesterday I was decent. Gargling with salt water, drinking a lot of vitamin C-enriched orange juice and eating/drinking anything with more than 30mg of protein equal = my new remedy. Honestly, all I ate this weekend: chicken soup, protein shakes, orange juice, egg yolks. It was a very yellow weekend on my plate.

But I woke up today and the remnants of the cold are trying to escape through my nose.

Anyway, I promised my new friends a meme that got to know me better. Except I didn't really have any I hadn't done so I googled (lol remember when I was like, "I LOVE YAHOO!, I WILL NEVER CALL SEARCHING "GOOGLING"--good times!) that seven layer meme thing and did that.

Seven layer Meme )

Anyone know when Chuck comes back? I keep seeing March 1st at 8pm but that's a Tuesday, Chuck has always been on a Monday and I think most of my flist would go berserk if they moved it.

Caught up with TV! Mostly. I still have to watch The Event, Terriers and this week's Undercovers...

How I Met Your Mother )

Chuck )

No Ordinary Family )

The Big Bang Theory )

Big Time Rush )

I have a lot to do today. I miss when weekends actually meant I got to relax and not catch up on everything there wasn't enough time for in the week.
bohemia: (ATHF - Meatwad)
So... a week later I'm caught up on all the TV that premiered this week! I think the only one I'm already giving up on is Hawaii 5-0. No fault of its own, it's just not my thing. Oh, and Lonestar, because I completely zoned out on that one and the premise isn't that strong in my opinion.

This isn't all the shows I watched, just the ones I have anything to say other than "It was cool."

How I Met Your Mother )

The Event )

Terriers )

Undercovers )

The Big Bang Theory )

In conclusion, WHAT.

Meme from [everyone ever]:
Anyone who looks at this entry has to post this meme and their current wallpaper on their journal.
Explain in five sentences why you're using that wallpaper!
Don't change your wallpaper before doing this! The point is to see what you had on!

I just changed it last night? IDK, I was getting bored of the Awesome smiley and I'd used the Awesome smiley for the last month or so so it reminds me of school. And I need new wallpapers... But Scott Pilgrim is cool, too! I plan on finishing the other two volumes now that I have time to myself. And yes, those are all the things I plan on watching today (except for Happy Town, I saw those. I'm just converting them for my mom).

Onto TV!

Brothers & Sisters )

How I Met Your Mother )

The Big Bang Theory )

Lost, although mostly just theorizing )

lol, idk about V. I was watching and I saw things happen, but I was too busy theorizing Lost to care. Although I guess the Vs can show emotion when they feel it!

Party Down )

Gravity )

In Plain Sight )

And now I will go enjoy some anime because I cannnnn.
bohemia: (SPNL - Team Hell)
I missed one episode of Brothers & Sisters so I'm all out of the loop there. UGH.

How I Met Your Mother )

~WARNING~ Those of you with severe attachments and delicate sensibilities to SPN may not want to read below.

I'm really disappointed Lost keeps getting forgotten when I do these posts. I come home on Tuesday and it's already on so I have to wait a while before I get to see the episode, and right after that I'm doing homework so I never get the time to write anything down to comment on. Then again, a lot of this season has been answers to things I've sort of figured out or theorized enough to understand to my own satisfaction, so it's not the "WTF WTF" that it seems to be for most people. I don't really feel like I need to write things down and/or discuss it. But the last episode was a Hurley one, so I did enjoy that one. And the guest stars. ;)
bohemia: (HIMYM - Shoot me)
I saw Valentine's Day yesterday, finally. If I hadn't been spoiled for the surprise by the big hoopla the internet made over a certain kind of couple in it, I think I really would've enjoyed it more. I did enjoy it, but I just... wasn't surprised like everyone else in the theatre. That said, the hoopla made me want to see it more. I really just went for George Lopez, who was in it more than I expected so that was cool. Half-way through the movie I realized there was three actors of Latino origins in it and I was like, "FUCK YEAH LATINOS." IDK, I saw The Black List a few week ago and since then I've been on a "positive ethnic pride" kick.

Anyway, I just caught up on TV. Here's some thoughts:

Big Love )

Brothers & Sisters )

How I Met Your Mother - now with 100% rant )

The Big Bang Theory )

How To Make It In America )

Lost )

White Collar )

Burn Notice )

I was going to watch Parenthood, but I got three minutes in before I realized it was an hour show and I can't watch some of those actors for an hour every week. Nor do I have the time for another hour.

Haven't seen Caprica yet, and I want to watch Psych over again before I talk about that because there were some specific points I wanted to talk about and I didn't write anything down.

Finally, it's [livejournal.com profile] f_march_madness time! Last time I just voted for whomever I liked more, but this time if two fandoms I hate are up against each other (like pretty much the entire teen category-- seriously, where's Melrose Place? :( ) I don't even bother. But if there's a character I like more or like even without watching the show (like Cara, hellooooo), I'll vote for them. I don't understand why some of the older fandoms are still in there, like Saved by the Bell, X-Files, Farscape and Popular, but I do enjoy the whole process so I'm excited to see how things go (and I'm already impressed with how Gus is keeping up with this AD dude. YOU GO, GUSTER). Eventually I'll just be rooting for like, the one remaining character that I adore, but whatever.
bohemia: (Leverage - Thumbs up)
Cut for cut's sake, see tags for shows mentioned )

We don't have any snow and I severely doubt we'll get any tonight, but I still have White Collar and Big Love to watch before I turn in for the night. Luckily, I can watch both while in my bed! \o/

Lastly, by way of [livejournal.com profile] betgirl, NPR article about latest Chuck episode and fan entitlement (psst, SPN and Lost fans!)
bohemia: (ATHF - Meatwad)
I'M TIREDDDDDDDDD. I'm watching White Collar and then bed. Psych tomorrow! If I have any energy left...

I purposely haven't posted because I wanted to lump all the TV commentary I could in one post and my otherwise free time has been swallowed up by The L Word and anime. If you've seen me comment somewhere it's because it was during some theme song sequence gave me some leeway to do so.

I'm rushing like this because I want to get at least five animes and two American shows over with before school starts Thursday. Not for any particular reason, that's just my random goal. I'm super excited to go back, unlike most of my flist. Heh. Anyway. TV.

Sunday night TV was mostly "eh."

How I Met Your Mother )

I have nothing to say about AOP, Modern Family or TBBT, other than "awww" at Sully, Sheldon and Mitchell.

Chuck )

White Collar )

Leverage )

Haven't seen Supernatural yet, lalalalala.

Burn Notice )

Okay, I'm going to go watch season four of The L Word while I wait for links to SPN, The Deep End and Archer-- all of which I'll watch tomorrow after I come back from the movies (I'm super-behind on movies, but I can't say no to Han Solo and Rick O'Connell).
bohemia: (Celebs - BAMF Katie)
I have been running around my school since 11am getting all the graduation/major paperwork filed. I'm tired. I'm spending the rest of the day reading!

Can someone tell me what is Lost's new timeslot? I know it's premiering on February 2nd, and it's a two hour premiere? But I don't know what time it'll be on for the rest of the season. I just need to know what show I'll have to download/stream on Tuesday (V, Melrose Place or White Collar), since Lost takes precedence over everything.

And I'm finally in the Christmas spirit. Better late than never? That's what midnight mass'll do to you, apparently (they had a donkey and a llama!!!).

This has broken my brain. Is he for real for real? Are they? I DON'T KNOW ANYMORE.

Also, there was this exchange:
psych_usa (Seriously? Can someone else please answer this... lol )RT @wineclubguy: No Christmas episode this year?
@psych_usa not for nothing but all usa gave us for christmas this year was a bittersweet monk finale and a crazy white collar cliffhanger :(
@boheme06 Well that certainly didn't sound bitter at all... LOL

I TAKE MY CHRISTMAS PSYCH SERIOUSLY, OKAY. :(

Anyway, my mom came home today with this 3 foot "stunner" of a (fake) tree and decorated it just now. So we have a tree? I go in and out of feeling festive, so I'm not "FINALLY!" I tried listening to Christmas music and it worked for a day and then the feeling went away. Christmas is next week and I'm not excited or giddy, just "Oh, yes, that's happening." I'm more excited for my birthday in January, even though I won't be doing anything. I'm starting to like the feeling of "leveling up" as it were, so that's why.

Actually, the only festive-like things I'm enjoying right now are the 12 Days of Christmas going on at [livejournal.com profile] capslock_spn and Markshakkah at [livejournal.com profile] mishaland.

I realized I hadn't mentioned anything about TV on Monday, but HIMYM was being completely filler (and what's with that lately?) and Accidentally on Purpose was being funny yet still struggling. The real winner was The Big Bang Theory, so I'll cut those thoughts.

OMG, I was trying to post last night and something was screwy with LJ, because all my code was correct but it kept fudging the posting. So I split it up-- the meme in one post, and TV in the next. And well, then Melrose Place came on. I was ~*distracted*~.

Brothers & Sisters )

How I Met Your Mother )

I actually legitimately adored that episode of Accidentally On Purpose.

The Big Bang Theory )

I watched Men of a Certain Age, too. The music's amazing and the writing feels real, like these aren't characters or archetypes. And it's funny without being depressing or insulting. Definitely continuing with that one.

And Leverage comes back January 13th! I LOVE JANUARY.
